With help on launch day from pool operators like nearmiss and CartmanSPC, the launch of CasinoCoin went extremely smooth. With some coordination, nearmiss was able to open up his pool for registration prior to launch so miners could prep their workers. A P2Pool option was also available with CartmanSPC's pool at launch. When the source and binaries became available, everyone was able to start mining it fairly -- I couldn't have asked for a better start! Like everyone else, I wish I could have been able to mine more early on, but I was fumbling around with my mining setup and didn't get it fully up and running into quite a number of blocks had already been mined. I thought I had pretty decent mining setup until I saw the hashrate of guys like stevenlam...lol.
I'm still surprised to see how quickly CasinoCoin has been adopted, and I attribute that to the CasinoCoin community -- you guys have been awesome! Being listed within 3 days of launch onto Cryptsy is a testament to the confidence people have in CasinoCoin. Some naysayers have claimed that "bribes" or bounties played a role for the listing -- but I'll kill that rumor right now -- none of that happened. I attribute the quick adoption for same reasons that apbyte mentioned above. No premine, fair start, growing community, adoption by miners, marketing power of the name, etc.
Now that the launch is over and CasinoCoin is listed on an exchange, we're onto the next step of promoting CasinoCoin adoption and keeping the momentum going. I'm doing all within my power to make this happen, and hope to have some great news to post soon. In the meanwhile, please help to promote CasinoCoin by using the CasinoCoin avatar and promoting CasinoCoin wherever you can!

how did this coin get listed on crypsy after 4 days.. special interests?
hundreds of people mining it and 100+ mh/s network rate all 4 days, people like this coin and they use it, and that is reason why it got on exchange so soon. It all depends on community. Of course new coins don't get listed if there are 5-10 miners only, that is not enough to say that community is using coin (and usage of coin is primary rating point if it should or should not get on exchange) hundreds of people eh

There's one order on the books, so it looks like it's working. Did you get any error messages?

Queue: 0 Scantime: 1 Expiry: 1 this got me down to 4.713% reject ratio ,thanks . Just wondering if this should be the recommended settings for Casinocoin? I am not familiar with exactly how these settings work and am currently testing them out. My reject ratio was extremely low with the default 1-60-120 but my miner has extremely low latency to the pool so maybe that has an effect.

Thanks for the support Spoetnik. I have read through that other off-topic thread -- it was pure entertainment! One thing I've learned from that thread is that drama = a lot of views and replies -- perhaps CasinoCoin should take a page from their book In all seriousness, my responsibility is to increase the market cap of CasinoCoin through development and adoption of CasinoCoin. The more services that adopt CasinoCoin, the more valuable CasinoCoin will be. Part of my efforts since the launch have been involved with contacting various online casino gaming type services about CasinoCoin and looking at possible avenues of integration. I don't necessarily like to advertise anything unless it's concrete -- that's just my style, but I can say that the conversations have been promising. From a development standpoint now that the CasinoCoin forum is officially online, I can focus on the next task at hand. At this point, I'd like to leave the gaming aspect to already established gaming entities -- I'd just work the integration angle with them. So instead, I'd like to develop services around CasinoCoin for my next task. I have a few ideas in mind, but I'd like to hear from you guys to see what's important from your view (ie. escrow service, merchant tools, mining calculator, tutorials, etc).Post your suggestions, questions or comments here. The more activity we have here, the longer this post will stay on the first page of Alternative Cryptocurrencies and will bring more awareness to CasinoCoin (all without the drama!).

If coin is not used by merchants - low value, and sooner or later it will die. As soon as merchants are using it - value goes up and coin will not die while they use it.
