Interesting project, there's currently no DAG privacy coin.

This is very ambitious, if you're serious about this you should look for a legit team to help you I can tell you that a DAG privacy coin with a solid team, open-sourced code and proof of development will skyrocket in no time.

However everything looks a bit fishy so far. I guess I'll wait to see the actual code.

Very ambitious project indeed. I'm looking forward to seeing the code, it may be the case that I can contribute to the development.

As far as the distribution method goes, I don't think there is a more fair one than the captcha faucet. Airdropping to XRB holders is definitely not fair, as it isn't fair to use the forum activity number (as if BitcoinTalk were at the centre of the universe?!).

My opinion is:
- no ICO
- no airdrops to XRB owners (this would make already rich people more richer, please give us a new opportunity)
- focus on development, bug free products (not like XRB ones) and community

Make this project have a own life (not depending on XRB).

Agree.

Multiround, egs 2 month, Airdrop based on forum activity number might work well!

I wonder why you are suggesting that  Grin

Anyway, I really feel this thread is a bit fishy atm. But if this is a serious project, then:

1) Please distribute through a faucet. If you make the distribution period relatively short, then there will be no issues.

2) Please change the total coin supply to something lower than 50M. 133M XRB was too much imo.

Byteball was founded by a genius Dev he never ask for any donation he just work a lot and talk a little 30% of the coin going to donators that sound crazy for me donation off course are welcome but they should be for the sake of donation not for the sake of getting some big share in stone now stone is 30%ICO and 70% or less airdrop let’s see what’s coming next.

Yes he is right, 30% of all coins to donators that translates to 30% ICO. ICO without website, or whitepaper, or any info about that ICO  Roll Eyes ... just a bitcointalk thread. Smells like a scam.

I agree with this option very very much.
If the technology of one coin is excellent, the development team is serious and responsible, the community is active and why to make it relation to another coin?
I think making it independent, unique is the most perfect.
I am looking forward to the progress of this project. In addition, I did not see the official telegram, hoping to quickly build one.

and also no 30% to be distributed to donators. I can see it as an ICO already if that is the plan.

Lets try to come up with a new distribution model. Solving Captchas is out of the options

Too many newbie and brand new accounts in this thread.. The dev hasn't answered any technical questions.. I would never donate in something like that. My feeling is this is a scam.

I just wish that this people are investors who just got into bitcointalk. The dev is not at fault for those to have an interest for the project if that is the case

Considering donating but to be honest the argument against a faucet is weak. What does "stress on the community" even mean? That is not a self-evident claim. I'm willing to hear you out on why it puts stress on the community but I need to hear some logic behind it.

Is there also anything you can do to reassure people it's not a scam? Prior work? Reveal who you are? No one wants to get Confido'd

So it seems to me the most important comments are that DAG protocols are designed for low fees and minimal transaction sizes while zkSNARKs require a lot of data and therefore are not really compatible with DAG networks. I'm all for experimentation though, so maybe it's worth the dev's attempt. Another alternative might be to use a less data intensive private transaction protocol, or have specialized private transaction nodes.

I will be checking this one out. Since you're essentially working by yourself and ICO wouldn't be a good rout to go. I say do an airdrop and for reference look at Nem. That all came about through volunteers that came out during the strong community that they immediately built. That's the tough part.

Sorry if this was already discussed, I could not find it: Is there a date after which you will stop accepting donations, or donations will not count against the distribution? If there is no such date it's better to select one earlier, so there aren't salty people afterwards.

I haven't go though these math behind the coin, so I want to see more technology of this coin. This is not another copy and paste coin or hard fork.
I will read its whitepaper for more details.

I don't like the fact you donated to something that could essentially be absolute vapour.

You are encouraging certain individuals to attempt something similar to what OP *might* be doing by your behaviour.

It's your behaviour and your donation, but it affects the whole community because people will now know they can get free money by just creating a fake ANN (not saying this pre-ANN is fake, I am saying that OP got money only based on a pre-ANN with no code to show, which sets a dangerous precedent imo).

I like what Raiblocks did and the idea of adding privacy to this technology is a very good one. It also really needs smart contracts and decentralized apps but who knows may be Stone will have this in future.
