Hello author! This is not an investment advice and you must understand that any investment is high risky! If I were on your place then I also will chose such popular currencies like - BTC, but with an accent on Ethereum also Ripple but Ripple is not simple coin and have itself specific!
Ethereum 60%
Bitcoin 20%
Ripple 20%!

You can buy bitcoin 60% and eth 30%, and 10% can invest in various projects that have recently been carried out successfully by ICO and whose price has strongly subsided to date.

I do not advise, but I will tell how I would do it myself. )
40% bitcoin, 40% ether, 10% would distribute according to ICO and new promising coins (but you need to watch and choose carefully), and the remaining 10% would remain in fiat for averaging in case of occurrence or continuation of the bearish trend.

In order to minimize the risks, invest in bitcoin for a long time, for example 1-2 years because in any case the price will rise!  Wink

I think it's very important for crypto investments to diversify risks. So i guess it's better to choose not 1, but 3-5 coins.

It is best to invest in popular coins that have credibility, but the risk is not excluded, to invest or not to decide only to you, do not invest large sums without experience

Each speculation, regardless of whether disconnected or on the web, postures dangers, though figured ones. I would support 30% of your venture into Bitcoin, LItecoin, Neo and Ethereum, the rest put into some pleasant income promising, producing tokens and coins. I have a little interest in PPT, which is a receipt calculating business. I additionally put resources into two tokens COB AND COSS, which are two trades. Additionally TRADE.IO is another colossal trade opening with income creating capacities and REALISTO is a land return on initial capital investment producing token, likewise in it's ICO stage.

If your planning for long term investment, I suggest you go to bitcoin. Bitcoin is ideal for long term investment because it has slow recovery speed but has the brightest future ahead.

The $ 12,000 crypto currencies are a huge amount for investing in the market and you can get coins that will make you rich in the future. According to my research, the coins that will increase in value over the next 2-3 years, these are Enj, Ripple, Vibe, Mtc, Vibe.

I would invest in the big coins known as ethereum and bitcoin. most of the other altcoins a scam
I also recommend that you invest slowly, not at once.

I recommend that you split the investment and buy a few coins. I believe that Ethereum will have a great future, and this year the price will grow.

If you decided to invest in cryptocurrency, then first think about security. Buy a hard wallet. Then decide where to invest.

I agree about Ethereum. But not worth that kind of money to fully go into it. You can go as well in bitcoin, as the funds allow you to hold it.

Which is a safe coin to invest in the long term?
How long should I hold it?

Is there a risk that I might lose it all?

I am a noob in cryptocurrencies. Help.  Huh

I was thinking Litecoin, is it a good idea?

There isn't really a safe coin so to speak. With any coin, there is a chance for lost, especially if you are the jittery type who panics when things start going down (which you can see is quite often these days). 12k dollars is a big chunk of money. Are you sure about this? But if you still want to invest, maybe try testing the waters first and see how much you are willing to risk. You can try the mainstream coins like btc and eth so atleast you know they are widely used and traded.

Well, if such a normal amount, it is necessary to distribute half of the coins from the top 10, and the rest in promising altcoins!
