Well hell... i don't know what I did, but I can't get cgminer to mine on middlecoin anymore... going to switch to LTC after messing with it for a couple of hours.

I can connect to a variety of pools, both scrypt and sha256, but it crashes everytime I try to connect to middlecoin

Tried  using both port 3333 and 8080, same results... just tried throwing out my config and using the basic code but not having any luck:

Code:
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://middlecoin.com:3333 -u 1HbrMDYSdYpv864StWzDXyrndVk3ARUzaM -p x

Let's just hope the exchange rate is the same in 3 days, when they mature. Any idea why the price skyrocketed today? I hope it's not some kind of manipulation that's going to be over and done with soon.

..

Are you evaluating to make a multipool dedicated to SHA-256 altcoins, with automatic conversion to bitcoin?

Considering latest bitcoin difficulty increases, it seems that recently mining some SHA-256 altcoins (PPC, TRC) is becoing more profitable then the same pure bitcoin mining.

Yeah I've been thinking about it.

If I did that, I wonder how i'd do the fees. Maybe 0% fees during the time that bitcoin is being mined, and then 3% for when another altcoin is >3% more profitable.

Using 2x5850's... was mining on Middlecoin just fine with them, then last night I tried to put another 5850 in the computer.  Something went wrong and I kept getting a Windows fatal blue screen when I was trying to run cgminer... so I removed the 3rd 5850 and now I can't connect to Middlecoin.  So I am currently mining LTC.

If you'd like to try to connect to middlecoin.com:3332, I have it temporarily pointed to just my LTC pool for a few days. To see if it's an issue with another coin, or my pool or the switching aspect.

Alright, I will try and connect to that port later when I get home from work.

I have no idea what happened, but I wish I would have just not messed with my rig last night.  Didn't have a lot of time and rushed through it a little bit so I guess I screwed it up.  Will probably do a fresh install this weekend when I get more time.  Would much rather be on Middlecoin though.  Easiest pool ever for a lazy miner like myself Cheesy

Let's say I buy 2x 7950 at 200EUR/piece

I have a motherboard and processor available, so my only costs are the 2 cards.

Will I ever be able to break even? within about 3-4 months using this pool?

I suggest you 7970.
My 2x 7970 are more stable on my windows 7 x64 respect to the other mining rig with 2x 7950

anyway both mining rigs works fine on middlecoin.

the 7950 mining rig, works 1st GPU at intensity 18 and the second GPU at intensity reduced to 13. Probably it is the mainboard, anyway i prefer 7970.

the 7970 both of them works fine at maximum intensity with just 77C temperature

Can't remember if this was asked before; is Tagcoin in the mix? Doing even better than NVC.

Bought a whole miner config 3 months ago (around 1000 euros including 4x new HD7950 and second hand stuff for the rest of hardware). Already reached the break even. I've been lucky because Middlecoin was making more BTC than today and 1 BTC was around 200 € when I started.

Actually, 1 BTC worth 650 euros. Regarding my earning with 4x HD 7950, you should be able to make around 7-8 € each day with 2x HD 7950. You should be able to reach the break even within +/- 3 months depending your electricity costs.

Personally, I took HD 7950 instead of 7970 because the cost is much lower for a bit less performance.

Yes, TAG is in the mix.

You may as well just list all the coins at the point, everyone keeps asking if this or that coin is in the mix every 10 messages or so.  Probably compile a pretty substantial list of the coins in the rotation at this point.

Why is the immature balance getting so high on middlecoin?  It's significantly higher than I've ever seen it before... Anything wrong with middlecoin on the backend? Or is it just a coin with a long time between when it's mined and when the coins become available?

Two things:
 - A bug I'm looking at, where there is some stuck immature coin
 - Today we've been mining coins that don't mature immediately, so there is a lot of immature balance.
