Can several cgminers be pointed at the same username/bitcoin address?

Or should one use a separate address for each rig?

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

2: You can, but its not necessary.

Multiple rigs with same btc adress will do. it combines your hashrate.

You can point as many miners at the same address as you want.  Some people like to break it up to track performance or maybe other reasons like accounting or leased mining scenarios.

Too bad about the stats not updating but I'm not worried about it.  Still the best service I've found so far.

For those without twitter, posted few minutes ago :

"Database is still catching up. I might need to up the difficulty to 1024 temporarily until I get the server upgraded."

and

"My database code isn't very efficient. And the more shares I have, the slower it goes."

Ouch, moving my slow miners away for now.

“@middlecoinpool: We're now using a difficulty of 1024.”
...before anyone complains... this WON'T significantly decrease your earnings, however, it WILL increase short-term variability

I buy that if your miners are around 1Mh/s+.  If you have slow miners which some of us do you will have to get very very lucky to solve a block during a round.

I can't stand this difficulty. forced to 1024k on one card? Nothing is getting through fast enough. This is just appalling, my balance failed to change during this whole morning because of it. I had 512k for eons, which was borderline alright, yet now this. Back to hashcows, ffs.

Let me know if I am doing something right. Smiley

vardiff places a huge load on the server. Apparently making $3k per day isn't enough to get beefier servers...

as far as I understood, it is like finding some coins walking on the street, and throwing them away until you find a banknote. instead, lowering the threshold means to keep in your pocket everything you find, even the smallest coins.
so, the word "significantly" actually has to be put in relation to how much money you find on the street per unit of time.

correct me if i'm wrong.

nothing to complain to the pool's owner if this is necessary to get all running smoothly again.

Your balance "failed to change" because all stats are paused until H2o's database gets updated.

...no you should read the thread, the difficulty only changed within the hour.

as for the changes between 1024 and 512 diff think of it this way.  In theory you'll submit half as many shares, but the shares that you submit are worth twice as much.  It nets out to be the same.  These shares we are submitting most of the time are not block solvers, they're just to show that we've been attempting to generate a blocksolving hash.  So you aren't "throwing" away any coins by not being allowed to submit a diff 512 or diff 1 share
