If you want the best possible returns in the next 6+ months, you should be mining other coins and holding. There are at least 3-4 other coins that will easily increase 2x+ before BTC does, im not even bringing the potential impact of scrypt asics into this..

In case some didn't know, the us govt is looking to dump the BTC they seized when they took down silk road. This could see the shaking out of some "weak" hands while also potentially benefiting any buyers in the market for the govt seized coins.

Also, H20 is doing more than just adding a few new servers.

If you have applicable skills please take the initiative and reach out to him.

Liking what I think I'm seeing. If this is what I think it is  Grin  Very nice H20, been waiting for this a long time.

Can you be more cryptic?  Wink

One? of the cutoffs seems to be around 2mh/s  Cool

Not sure what do you mean by that.

Doubt he knows either.

I do not.

This is just priceless.
It was indeed...a false alarm... haha

He means that the pool's hashpower is getting divided over several coins I think. And as I have mentioned before a few pages back. H2O told me he is busy implementing it. The dude with the 4 mining rigs of which one was mining another coin somehow is probably the example of it?

So I have something interesting I found today.

Here is my hashrate.

http://www.middlecoin.com/reports/1D8D29KxcmPqHsmiypHcEdCc5HqnjYgat.html  <there was a small dip when i moved my machines and one went down last night for a few hours.

Here are 3 other users with a same overall hashrate

http://www.middlecoin.com/reports/1UYijXkzZh4qqQKUkHPeRfbELF3XKmWye.html  <<< very close rate and he makes double what I make

http://www.middlecoin.com/reports/1B2cs9cyAcmNKPjoGdGNUL92FToKSUQaXc.html <<< This guy has the same rate as me, I have been watching it all day and he is making almost double what I am in a day

http://www.middlecoin.com/reports/1D8D29KxcmPqHsmiypHcEdCc5HqnjYgat.html   <<< This one is lower at first but gets higher at the end.. but notice how the earlier payments are similar to mine with double the rate.

I have very few rejects, my pings are 25-35ms, my machines run 24/7.  No odd messages on my screen when running and I have ran it on litecoin/wdc/doge/etc before with no issues.  Why are they making way more than me?  Seems the sharing part of the pool needs tweaking if we are all mining the same and yet I barely make what someone with half the power is making?

We have already noticed these differences.

It seems you can't estimate your payout only by taking some dudes' payouts with the same hashrate.

There are  so many parameters that you don't know from the server: accepted shares, stale shares (and btw do you submit your stale shares?), discarded works, gpus used, PSU, drivers, OS, settings in config files, mod miners, network connections...

I've been mining on 2 different servers (eu and east) these last days: I didn't notice huge differences (same coins mined at -almost- the same time on the 2 servers). I may be wrong but I don't think the differences depend on which server you are.

The EU server gave me a lot less less then the US server (I'm in Europe)

On the EU server I got between 0.004 and 0.006 for each 280X
Since I'm on the US server each 280X does around 0.009 a day

So I don't know what is going on...

Since we all mine at MC with a static block size the payout should be something like this:
BTC mined (minus his fee) divided by the total amount of accepted shares (all pools together) x accepted user shares = payout

If it was like: all miners get the same per accepted block and they can mine at the server with the lowest ping it would prevent a lot of stales and rejects.
People from China and Australia are now mining at the US servers... that can't be good.

Agreed. We shouldn't be have to seek out profitability differences between servers. The attraction of this pool is so we don't have to follow up all kinds of statistics, i.e. ideal for lazy miners.

Moreover, as this 'ranking' varies over time (with outtages and such) it is becoming more and more of a lottery.

Any differences in profitability over servers should be equalized at calculation/payout time, like you suggested.

Great payout for me yesterday with an average of .0125/Mhs. That beats the profitability calculator at coinwarz.com. Still loving the useast server. My rejects are about 2% on some of my rigs. Less than 1% on others.

And my hashrate isnt down 10% on useast. Still reports me banging along at 18Mhs (which is correct for my farm) with no dips or decreases.

I think if one wanted to test if one server is better than the other it would be best to do something like this:

{
      "url" : "5;pool1url",
      "user" : "server1btcacc1#",
      "pass" : "pool1pass"
      },
                {
      "url" : "5;pool2url",
      "user" : "server2btcacc2#",
      "pass" : "pool2pass"
      },

The '5' in front means that it will split the shares you get 5 for each pool.  This way you will know if one server is better because you will now they are getting exactly the same amount of shares.

  Thoughts?

I have made an Android application for Middlecoin in my spare time. If you would like to BETA test it feel free to try it out. Would love to hear about your thoughts.

Please as this is an early build, the first time you run the program let it download and process the statistic from Middlecoin.com (currently no progress bar, could take a while) until you get the "Download Complete" message before you add addresses, search and check pool statistics. Thanks.

Untested but should work from Android 3.0

hi
nice work, thanks for the app.
I have tested it on android 4.4.2 . It works well.
It would be nice to have some graphs, like the other app "Middlecoin".
My computer sometimes crashes and it would be nice to have a notification when there are no submitted shares in a given period, or when the speed goes below a given value.

Thanks

Do the stats from all the different servers merge on the main page? Or do I have to view a different page if one of my rigs is on a different server than the other?

wow since that 1000mhs rig was taken off line, my balances are increasing much quicker and i'm having much less rejected shares. Wherever that chinamen is, goodbye and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

The payouts seems to be good for today Smiley

However we lost a 9 days old 280X today with sparks flying from it. Not overclocked or voltmodded, just running completely stock. So we have to hope for a RMA Sad

On startup or while it was running? If it's "only" a VRAM ripple capacitor that blew, then you might be able to still run the card fine :]

On topic - Payout looks to be good today (or at least in-line with current exchange rates), however, my rejects have been up quite a bit in the past 12 hours or so...

I don't see too many others around me with similar issues, so most likely it's a latency thing

Edit: and now they're trending back down... guess the issue resolved iteself

I can't get any of my rigs to connect to middlecoin, just goes to failover, this has been happening for about a week. Is it because of the 1024 DIFF ? Has the server changed recently ?

That just does not seem fair or right. Hardware should be irrelevant once the server accepts my work and tells me I have XX.XXX hashrate. The server is accepting (as verified in stats) 3.6mhash or more of my work an I get paid for less than peers that do the same work.

I decided to split my rigs apart with one on a different address shortly after payout time.  The main rig (2.2mhash) is sitting at .013/.020 BTC overnight, the other rig (1.4mhash) got .0047/.0025

Since last night, and all during the night, my rigs have all been stalling out every 20 minutes like clockwork. That is, everything is working fine, hashing away, but suddenly no shares will be accepted after ~20 minutes or so of normal function. Cgwatcher eventually reboots cgminer, even though cgminer didn't freeze and is to all appearances still hashing away. Config hasn't changed on my end and was previously working great.

So I conclude it's gotta be server issues. I end up with a ~12% loss of hashrate because of this.

Um, the two aren't related... correlation doesn't imply causation.
