Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

I started to use middlecoin today... exactly what I was thinking...
It is a general trend though, alt coin mining profitability is falling rapidly.
Three weeks ago I was considering to invest in a multi GPU rig... glad I didn't.

I am sure it will pick back up. Everything has ups and downs, just the little grasshopper needs to be patient ;o)

I've been debating on this actually. Hard to decide which coin to mine directly though. Tried IFC but that was an absolute joke. But after the last few payouts, it's actually not that far off of the payouts lately.

Dogecoin seems like the smart move. Any other suggestions?

cool thing about middlecoin is you don't need to research.  you just turn your farm on, and go live your life.  many of us mine here because we don't want to dredge the bottom for some secret edge on profitability:  we're happy with the return over weeks and months.

I wish you the best of luck sorting through all of the alt coins.

After reviewing the pages that I have missed since I was last here, has there been any indication as to when the unexchanged balance will be exchanged by h20 as yet?

In my testing, mining doge directly always led to lower payouts and more annoying waiting than using middlecoin to do it.

In my testing, mining doge directly always led to lower payouts and more annoying waiting than using middlecoin to do it.

You and me both.  Doge required endless hours at the computer playing around on exchanges waiting for transactions to be confirmed, I already work on a computer about 50% of the time at my current job so the last thing I want to do is be on the cursed machines when I get home.

The big thing that I have noticed with middlecoin is that when the price of BTC is rising or high I have made less BTC.  Once the BTC prices are going down hill or are bottomed out I make more BTC.  Ive realized that mining coins is fairly marginal most of the time, but when you get a nice pop and cash out thats when the payday is.

In the meantime I just kick back and let my stable and largely automated rigs connect to middlecoins stable and automated mining and pay system do all the dirty work while I go about my life.

Touche good sir. I did verify that Hashco.ws is back up. Made a new account and moved my main rig there. Even if profitability is not much, or at all, higher than middlecoin, I do like the idea of being able to hang onto alt-coins mined. Why? I like the idea of having a broader portfolio of coins than just 1-4 coins, just in case Smiley

I also belives that should be a control to these kind of very suspicious minings...

500mh?Huh come on really?

Im busting my balls to get a second system do run to up from my 1.6mh to maybe 4mh...

suspicious?  not for me.  more intriguing than suspicious, and this sparks my curiosity.

i think there is a new player with new technology in play here.  Due to the supply constraints video cards, i doubt someone could have gotten this hash rate from GPU setup by dec 31 and start with such a large hash rate.  there just isn't that many video cards available from anywhere.

if it was a botnet like a few paranoiacs were saying, there should be more fluctuations in the hash rate as unaware people turned their computers on and off.

i believe this is the first evidence of a scrypt asic farm.  to see it on middlecoin should be no suprise to any of us here; middlecoin does outperform the others switching pools.

we'll see others.  this is only the beginning.

Couldn't agree with you more...

Suggestion:

Why not archive stagnant bitcoin addresses that aren't mining into another page so we all aren't buffering a bunch on the front page. (food for thought)

You're talking about someone who is confirmed to be from China, where these cards are all made. Supply is a completely different story over there. These aren't people that are walking into Frys picking up equipment.

Or asic farm. too consistent to be botnet I think, and it seems to grow fairly consistently. Could be they are testing as they produce.

Don't be naive

Just because you don't see massive spikes, does not mean it's not a botnet. He can easily have so many infected throughout the country that it won't fluctuate as much.

so wouldn't the 'botnet' hashrate have a diurnal flux when people in the country went to sleep and shut off their many, infected computers?
