a Q in the middle to fill hole?

good idea

I don't think you guys understand design. The logo has to be reasonably identifiable in many sizes, and as small as 16x16 pixels. A small Q in the hole wouldn't be visible at such resolution.

TLDR: We need to keep it simple.

I am quite busy right now and will not be able to make tweaks for a few days, if anyone wants to tinker with a simplified .PSD file of the artwork or just want some large PNG's you can find them here:

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5hpUCaR21DSVW4zTlRSaHJ2WFk&usp=sharing

thanks dude
much appreciated
to ohiwastedmylif
please step forward designers if you can add improvements

personally i think a silver backing as opposed to white, or even gold to look more coin like?

please chip in, we need a number of people with similar views to move forward
we have the basis of the design thanks to ohiwastedmylif for coming up with a great concept

I sent a transaction of ~16,000 QRK from one wallet to another and it hasn't got any confirmations.

Are you sure you're on the right chain?
Try finding it in the block explorer.

Where would I find the block explorer?
Are they lost for good even if I fix whatever the problem is?

In the links section, maybe the website? I'm too busy and lazy to look now.
Step 1: Backup your wallet.dat
Step 2: Delete blockchain and everything in the folder in appdata/roaming/quark (if this is the correct path, I don't have any clients except BTC).
Step 3: Re-download everything, put your wallet.dat back, sync again. If it's there it's not lost, if it's not there then this might have been a different issue. (this one happened to me).

Thanks, I'll try this out and report back in a few hours.
There doesn't seem to be an explorer for this coin.

EDIT: Yep, that fixed things. Thanks for you help.
Do you have a QRK address?

Thank you! Client finished syncing just after I posted..

Nice to know there is an explorer.. sometimes.. not right now apparently lol Any idea who operates it? I can offer to host it on a relatively reliable server of mine if whomever is interested.. I've tried setting up ABE before but never been able to get it working properly myself.

I am more than happy to host block explorer, the we can have everything on one site
however, that current explorer is never up due to their hosting

the user did post the zip, but is obviously down too
http://qrkexplorer.zapto.org/quarkcoin083.zip

I keep asking for a script. which this zip apparently had, does anyone able to find a cached version on google. then I can send to Max, Quark developer, for him to give ok on and that no bugs in it, then I can host

or does anyone here have tech skills to code a script for a quark explorer
I have a dedicated server it s no problem for me to host

what should hash per sec look like on i7 3770?  how many?

and how many days until the block reward halves again? it's terrible only getting 1k coins per block now Smiley

do you calculate it 65k   x 30seconds?  is it as simple as that , are blocks found exactly every 30 seconds now?

Anyone got a working one? Need to get the blockchain before I can start mining.

I got this link from the Sif coin thread (english not russian one) it is the source code that when compiled will mine Sif better than the standard client with MinerD.   Since Quark is based on (but not a copy of) Sif maybe someone with more skills than me can get this running quark.

Not sure if having 3 random generated on top of the six other styles makes it impossible or if MinerD will really do better than the default client which I noticed now shows hash rate since updated.

Note on Sif thread this was posted as an alpha but it does work on that coin.

I tweaked minerd a bit to use the Quark hashing algorithm. I couldn't get it to work quite right, but the hash rates were the same as I got with the wallet. It makes sense since the same hashing code is used in both the wallet and minerd. Minerd is faster for SHA2 because it has lot of highly optimised SHA2 routines.

probably yes, because the GPU miner for Primecoin is on the way...
