For the sake of Crypto world, some well known devs BTC/LTC and others need to take a look at Quark because it really is having some interesting features and the experiment of mining them all quicker than decades might turn out positive after a while. The devs of other coins need to stop being selfish and acting like they are in some kind of currency war and help hand because we are seeing improvements above BTC and LTC in these coins which deserve more attention and if some flaws get fixed we could get a top notch currency here.
Enlighten me, what are these features?

Is this still mineable?
Of course it is. and its... profitable? with a cpu? a normal cpu? that makes it susceptible to botnets though, right? I'm currently mining ~20 QRK/day on an i5 and a super old Athlon X2 what miner? where do you mine? i have a phenom 2 x4 and i'm barely getting anything on coinmine.pl

I'm told you can just use cgminer though but I haven't tried that yet for QRK (but cgminer is my go-to miner for all other cryptos).

My i5 does 0.67 by itself and the Athlon X2 adds another ~0.25 or so, so I'm probably getting around the same as your i7 with the two chips. 20 QRK/day was an estimate (hence the ~), but it's not much less than that. Although the difficulty is going up. I emptied my pool wallet about 15 hours ago and I'm up to ~10 now so today's haul will probably be 15 QRK or so.

I don't think you'll get much action from anything other than an i5 or i7.

somewhere back in the middle of this monster thread, someone had an optimised miner for AMD bulldozer processors, they were supposed to get about 2mh/s, which is pretty good.

You have to realise one thing here.
Why would anyone complain about the QRK success?
It is simple, they didn't mine it when they could, they didn't buy it when they could ( for nothing). Now they are crying that it has taken off lol
The exact thing happened with btc and ltc. The same thing will happen with the next coin that meets dramatic success from nowhere. It's simple people lose out , they cry about it.
The distribution of qrk is actually better than BTC and many other coins. BTC is said to be 70% in the hands of 100 people.
Many coins are almost totally mined in a few months. Look at CGB this is a great coin and has already been mined.
Quarks distribution was not achieved through mining, it was achieved through the free market. It was on sale for MONTHS for nothing. For a few ltc you could have bought a ton of it.
The price was low because the miners dumped it on day one on the exchange, then they dumped the rest out for any BTC they could get. Anyone who bought it is now laughing.
MINING is nothing. It is a way to distribute the coins but the market does this to a much larger scale.
I am happy to see ALL crypto that is individual and has made some new contribution to crypto currency become successful. All the coins listed are going to go up over time. Which will explode next nobody knows.
+1 cryptohunter! I find your posts some of the most rational around here. If you look up the beginnings of LTC, XRP it was the same thing - hate and vitriol everywhere from people who missed the boat and/or the "BTC is the only cryptocurrency" crowd. Some are angry because they missed out, others are trying to protect their investments in other coins. And despite the fact that, as you said, BTC is said to be 70% in the hands of 100 people, some people will continue to insist that BTC is the only way to go and QRK is just a premined scam. Despite the fact that Bitcoin is currently $1,000 and Quark is 12 cents, again, some how Quark is supposed to be a pump and dump scam. Oh well, haters are going to hate, successful people are going to continue to be successful by ignoring lies and FUD spread by internet trolls

Just look on a BTC volume for quark on Cryptsy. I have been watching sell and buy orders every day since few days and biggest whales are already almost happy. Soon it will end. I think today we can say that people slowly start to buy more then other want to sell, just look through sell/buy orders.

no. what's your txid? 6dc73437ec3c663997a6d78baf48de4898831338dd330c0da425a9da9e34e80d You transaction ID did not reach the blockchain. Try paying a small fee next time. Backup your wallet. Then you will need to run -salvage All will be well.

I don't think you'll get much action from anything other than an i5 or i7. what about FX 8350? Not sure, since I've only tried the i5. Just out of curiosity, is it a laptop? FWIW I also tried mining with an i7 on a laptop and my desktop i5 got twice the performance. But my laptop runs incredibly hot. I'm wondering if heat plays a factor.

When you have sent transaction that after hours and hours still show a ? for confirmations then they never actually sent and it is an easy fix to get them back in your wallet balance. This tends to happen more often when sending amounts that are large. 1. First backup your wallet just in case 2. Close client 3. Restart client with the -salvagewallet command (eg quarkcoin-qt.exe -salvagewallet) either from command line or make a shortcut with modified properties. 4. Wait...it can take a long time 5. Eventually the client will open and the coins should all be back in your Balance. Hope that helps.

I don't think you'll get much action from anything other than an i5 or i7. I have an I7 4core and make 138khashes. Is there a block explorer? I cannot even find a compiled miner to use for a pool. Am I so stupid? Thanks

Cryptsy has QRK creeping up. To .000138 now. Maybe the new bottom is .00011. Anyway, I mine on several CPUs using the "Legacy" minerd for win 6 64 bit found in the depths of this thread. I don't have any recent machines, but I'll give you an idea of my hashrates: AMD Phenom II x4 965 be: 121.43 khash/s times 4, of course Intel Xeon X3430 at 2.4 Ghz: 87.43 khash/s times 4 Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 at 2.33Ghz : 71.28 khash/s times 2 AMD Phenom II x4 905: 89.45 khash/s times 4 I use pool with http://www.coinmine.pl/qrk/ and I am averaging about 24 QRK/day since the reward was halved to 16. Not too great, but steady. I welcome recommendations for improvement. Juan

I think you should be getting a lot more than 138 kH/s with an i7. I assume you mean per thread. My i5 averages over 140 (per thread). Or are they really that close performance-wise? There is a block explorer. Miners were tough to find. I found one on r/QuarkCoin somewhere.
