I have seen so many alt coins that were cheaper and I was holding on to ETH thinking  it will pave out. I wish i bought altcoins with it as that would got me some profits.

For e.g

I was watching VERGE xvg recently when it was less than 1 cent. today it is 25 cents. I wish that I had invested in it when My gut  instincts was for it.

Did not want to loose the only ether as i lost my Previous eth in Confido scam. Please advise.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

You can split it up. Keep a certain portion of your money in eth, and invest the rest in alts. Eth will probably rise, but at a smaller percentage than alts, but alts are risky obviously. So if your investment in alts fails, you will still have a portion of your eth.

There's no point keeping the Ethereum. Now the ICO market has a large number of promising projects. In my understanding, priority should be given first of all to the security of your funds. I do not know your plans and objectives, but in this situation, you could consider the SwissBorg (CHSB) project for studying and further making investment decisions.
The project deserves attention!!!

I think this advice is the most correct. If you invest in one coin, there is a great chance of losing everything. There are a lot of scam coins now

1 eth, you need to hold it rather than you buy some altcoin, or if you still want to buy altcoin, maybe NXT or the big 10 rank on market will be a great choice.

You can buy alts by using ETH pair. you can hold both so you will have both coins in the long term.. buy more and hold we're in a consolidation period. just hoard bitcoin and altcoins.

It depends on how much you want to risk and how big profit you expect. Bigger risk equals bigger possible profit.
Keeping ETH is probably much less risky than buying some altcoins, but the short-term profit is also quite limited. Buying alts can bring you much bigger short term profit, but is also much more risky.
As always, it's your money so it's up to you to do the research and decide Wink

Verge is an exception to the rules, to be honest. Everyone said that it would grow up, but no one could think that it would make x1000%. Take a closer look Edgeless (EDG). They got the official license yesterday. The price soared, now it will go down. In January, they will release a new development and the price will rise again before the release. I can also say about the ethereum classic. Many say that it will show growth very soon. Th're stable coins, not an unknown scammers.

if you have 1 ethereum then you can hold it until the price increase more than now. but I think if you want to buy another coin then you need to have another balance and don't sell your ethereum because the price will increase soon. you don't have to get tempting when you see another coin increase because this will make you become greedy and you don't focus on one coin. in the end, you cannot make any profit at all and only lose your coin and your profit. this happens with some of my friends, they are attracted to another coin when they see the coin price increase and they cut loss the coin they have and buy that coin but unfortunately, after he bought the coin, the price suddenly become dropped.

Eth is good for long term investment but i always believe that diversifying your coins is the best strategy. So if you are wondering either to keep it or not, i guess it is best to use 50% of your eth in buying altcoins that for you has potential and the other 50%, you keep it as eth until it grows.

My advice is that you should watch the market everyday to be able to grasp the trend in the future and this will help you a lot in investing. 1 ETH can become 10 ETH if you learn and accumulate experience. You should find some altcoin projects and invest in them and wait about 6 months to see the results

@samy_voc. Do not cry over a missed investment opportunity that would have made you get rich quick. You should instead keep looking. But it would also depend on what you want. Do you want to get rich quick or do you want to be involved with a real community and a real project?

I reckon I already know your answer hehehe.

For investments for a long period of time, it is better to use the crypt coin ethereum. For actual investments right now, look at the projects ICO. For example Napoleon, GoNetwork, WePower

Leave some of the money in the ethereum, and invest the remaining parts in other currencies. Even if only one of your altcoins grows in x25, then it will be profitable for you.

I'd recommend split it. Turn about 30-40% of crypto you have in popular and decent altcoins like Ripple, IOTA, EOS, NEO, etc. HODL other 60-70%, because Ethereum is #2 crypto after bitcoin and it should grow more.

ethereum is growing very rapidly and has a very stable value right now, you can keep your ethereum and wait until early 2018 when its value goes up even higher.
if you are interested to buy altcoin, i suggest to buy ripple, now ripple is moving fast and have good progress so will give good profit for you.
