In my opinion, Bitcoin and Ethereum will remain the top 2 cryptocurrency in the end of 2018.
As to the rank from 3-10, it might be very different from what we see now.

What do you think which will be the best alternative of bitcoin in 2018? Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, Verge or Zcash?

To me I think Ethereum will increase like Bitcoin did in 2017. Ethereum is the next Bitcoin in 2018. Watch out!
I agree with your opinion. Many people think so. Even if Ethereum can not beat bitcoin. He is still a bitcoin threat.

I think ethereum should be the best alternative for bitcoin because of wide popularity and huge acceptance of ethereum also it is one of the trusted and widely used crypto currency after bitcoin. Even ethereum blockchain holds lots of successful projects.

Yes, even most of the products are based on Ethereum blockchain. Apart from Ethereum, many people support Ripple too. Although these days most of the alt coins are not performing well but still there is hope.

Forgive me but I think that Bitcoin has no alternative and nothing else can replace it, of course Bitcoin needs to be modified, but not to create something else, but just to finish the bitcoin and everything will be fine, so we just wait until they buy equipment to integrate the lightning into the network .

Any blockchain smart contract platform is going to do well. If any one of them solves the Ethereum scaling issues there will be big money to be made.

My eyes are on Cardano and Ethereum Classic

IOHK has shown they are dedicated to their craft and their support of both these currencies

In my opinion, Ripple may grow sharply in 2018 against rumors that it is going to enter the IPO. If this happens, Ripple will overtake the bitcoin by capitalization.

Neo is interesting, as sometimes, it's referred as the Chinese Ether. Neo has Gas as a form of dividend as well. Neo should be an interesting alternative to BTC for 2018.

Considering its much lower marketcap, Neo do have a great potential to grow a lot in 2018.

Imo, by the end of 2018 ETH very might possibly overtake #1. My concerns are: ETH scalability might be an issue, though. And due to possible congestion in ETH network fee could be high.

though i believe there is no any such thing which can be get close to btc or to get the pace of growth of btc. But, ETH will be in my next consideration to be best crypto currency with the best of its potentials. If we consider the historical data then ETH have achieved 300 to $1400 which is 5 time of its value. over the 1 year of time line. and btc 3k to 20k within 8 mnth . so there is no such coin which can keep up the pace of btc but, i am an optimist About eth cause there are lots of project are goin on supporting eth platform and a lot more to come this year. If investment turned up in to the favor then i think we will be able to recall our memory of btc the way it had grown from $1000 to $3000. I am kind of expecting the same thing.

and as for the lite coin i think its gonna hold the pace of eth. I ways have that vibed these are chained or positively interreleted to each other. lets hope for the best.  2018 is the year of eth.

I prefer etherium to make investment in the future Because this type of coin has a fast price movement and is perfect for use as one place of income at any time.

Bitcoin is very influential cryptocurrency because it is the first digital currency and has the highest value among the rest of the crypto coins. Yes, the value of bitcoin plunge in the month of January but as you can see in the movement of the market, there's an increase value since yesterday and it is really a good sign. Based on my observation, Ripple, Ethereum and Ripple are some alternative coins that are the best. Ripple can be used for transactions, but the Ethereum cannot be used, however, it is a good option because of its potential.

I wouldn't consider Ripple as an alternative to bitcoin. If it is for the lower fees, bitcoin has changed to low fees now but if someone is still not satisfied with it better choose Ethereum or Litecoin.
I won't choose XVG too because it's more of a hype coin.

If i were choosing with the coins you have listed,it would be ethereum because it has a solid platform and has good community like bitcoin has,2018 would be altcoins year so i would stick to solid altcoins because bitcoin's movements are very unstable and unpredictable.

I don't think any of the coins can effectively compete with Bitcoin. They may try in the short run but in the long run Bitcoin will still remain the king that it has been. Ethereum is the only coin I can say may try to give Bitcoin a run for its money in the long run more than any other coin.
