Bitcoin alternatives in 2018

In all aspects, ETH is the best alternative for bitcoin in 2018. as long as ETH remains to be the second in market cap it will be the best option aside from BTC. Actually there are instances that ETh is unaffected by the drop and peak of BTC, which is a good indication. But generally, what we want is for it to increase in price in line with the increase of BTC. I can't say ripple because many have said that ripple is a stagnant coin already.

I think it depends on what you choose. depending on your beliefs as well. if indeed you want to benefit from bitcoin yes you select bitcoin. if you want to seek trust in others I suggest you choose Ethereum and NEO. I think both coins will have a good chance in the future.

Best alternatives for what? To replace bitcoin? I do not think there is a coin that is going to do that, if you mean to surpass bitcoin in market cap, again I do not think there is a coin capable of that either, but if you are talking about getting profits, then most solid altcoins should have a better year than bitcoin like what happened in the last year.

Bitcoin is the mother of all crypto and Altcoin price is ruled by bitcoin trend. Bitcoin investment is made on a long term basis and it would give high returns. But altcoins are mostly pumped and dumped coins and mostly investments in altcoins are made in a short term basis. I think Ethereum is the Best.

As an alternative, yeah, I don't think btc will become obsolete in that regard.

I think about the next 3 coins:

The biggest problem of ripple is its relationship with banks that is why many in the forum do not trust in that coin after all many of us are in here to avoid the banks and their regulations so we are not going to support a coin like that, however the fact it is in the third spot in market cap is something that has many of us worried and even for some short moments it was the second coin in terms of market cap.
