My German friend said "A stupid wakes up everyday" Not sure the proper translation in German but we all get the idea. http://cointerra.com/cointerra-announces-gsx-pcie-bitcoin-mining-card/Seriously, when they said big announcements I was hoping for shipping increases or news that they hired more staff to increase production of the T IV to catch up on the backlog or (wishful thinking) they actually produced a 2th unit.

“Having delivered the TerraMiner, the most powerful Bitcoin miner ever released, we decided to turn our attention to designing an affordable solution for the folks who kick-started the mining revolution – enthusiasts and hobbyists looking for an affordable path to ASIC-based Bitcoin mining. At just $1,599 and delivering over 400 gigahash per second, the GSX I combines a low cost of entry with exceptional performance.” said Ravi Iyengar, CEO – CoinTerra, Inc.
Having delivered
They have not delivered mine... we decided to turn our attention away from faster delivery of the current miner.. and what about 1.6 vs 2th >? Are these guys giving refunds??

My December batch unit (pay date Sept 12) is expected to ship today, I am told.
Confirmed. I just received my tracking number. It arrived in good condition. It's up and running now. I did have to powercycle it a couple times to get the second CTA chip to start hashing. I'll let you know reported vs actual hashrate after collecting data (based on logged accepted shares) in my mining dashboard tonight.

It's not even funny anymore.....$1600 for 400ghs that they claim will ship in June, which means August. By then the difficulty could make these generate under $10 a day. Anyone who orders this needs their head examined. These Companies need to decide whether they are in the hardware business or the mining business. If you are in the mining business take down your bullshit website and go mine to your hearts content and get rich. If not, start manufacturing and selling hardware that is reasonable and in a timely fashion. I have zero interest in ordering something from someone who may or may not have it ready five fucking months from now with a track record as disgusting as a $2 whore. And another thing.....what's with the eighteen steps BACKWARD in progress? Today....2Ths miner....five months from now.....400Ghs? WTF?

Build the goddamn thing, and when it works, start selling it.

Rather than continue the tar-and-feathering, let me ask a question: does the 400GH/s miner *need* a PCIe slot connection, or is that optional like BFL's Monarch design? Needing to connect these to motherboard PCIe slots (or risers) seems ridiculous.
This thing is obviously meant to compete with BFL's Monarch which also *might* ship in June if ordered today. At this point Cointerra and BFL seem both equally risky in terms of delivery. I suppose one point in Cointerra's favor is that they already know their chip works and its power draw; that's something BFL has yet to demonstrate publicly.

I'm guessing we will never know. However, if they just need power from the pci-e connection, I've got plenty of risers that will work great for that Not that these are real, I don't have a clue why they would come out with something worse in the future.

The product is a nonsense. The pricing model is a nonsense.
Please will buy into it.

This is something new. Pre-order for stuff that is in stock!(ofc the chip is the most important stock)
Perhaps you missed my point. There is considerably less overhead in designing a PCI-E card/board comparative to the ASIC they've already designed and taped-out. There should be no need for a pre-order product. Design the board, test it, advertise and sell it. Outside of Cointerra having $0 for R&D, there is absolutely no need for them to continue using the Pre-order model. It does not matter that this is a "new" product when it's using old parts. There is almost literally nothing that needs to be done outside of place and route.

So this new miner has the same chip as the Terraminers? And its only going to be 400 gh delivered in June? Sounds like they are not going to be able to hit a minimum of 500 gh as advertised.
