Many people out there don´t believe that Ethereum can be a long term hodling, they simply use it participate in ICOs, sell and buy bitcoin again with the profit. Do you think that may change this year and ethereum can be seen as the choice to hodl?
We do have news on ETH that Ether value will grow threefold with the support of subcontracts. So we can expect Ether value to grow this year. We do have experts say that 2018 is going to be the year of crypto currencies. We may have all altcoins value would be booming this year. This would enlarge the crypto market amongst other markets. Compared to bitcoin and Ethereum, I would choose bitcoin now for an investment. |

ETH will likely stay behind BTC for a couple of years and eventually overtake bitcoin. Ethereum offers several opportunities for businesses to take advantage of while bitcoin will be the currency of the elite.

I think long-term, of the two, Ethereum will probably pull ahead unless Bitcoin makes some changes to allow for scalability and growth (remember the ridiculous transaction fees when BTC was $12k+ and there were a lot of transactions?), but that will pose some challenges as we saw the inability to agree on going forward with a hard fork. Right now, Ether is posed for faster, cheaper transactions along with being the primary ICO platform. And of course, we can't forget cryptokitties. Or was it that we wanted to forget them...? Anyway.

My personal view is that ETH can run in the long run. Intelligent contracts have strong vitality. Many projects are based on eth. If I choose the investment target, I will choose bitcoin. Because investing bitcoins in the encrypted world is always right.
You seems have an unfinished statement above lol . Bitcoin as a pioneer of crypto currency would always well known as a beast and the great thing that no matter if there's an alternate coin such as ethereum could have a better functionality , Bitcoin would remain on top. So no wonder if you faced with these two investment option, it would make you in trouble confused to choose which one better. |

Ethereum is also one of the coins that I hold for long term because it is one of the coins that are actually used and not just for speculation purposes.

There are now articles that are giving an idea that ETH is the best next coin after bitcoin as an investment. There's no reason to believe either will not do well this year.
Too early to say this but I'm all in for bitcoin. |

At this point in time i think ethereum is taking its place on top. Though it has not yet matched the value of bitcoin but i have seen how stable it been in price. I think ethereum is a dependable currency too. I will go for ethereum.

They do not believe about cryptorruency because there are also governments and people who are creating fake news about cryptocurrency telling that bitcoins is a scam but if they just know how altcoins and other cryptocurrency rotate's in the market then they will surely realize that cryptocurrency is very profitable. |

Too early to say this but I'm all in for bitcoin. Bitcoin has limited supply, and Ethereum has no limit supply. if the prices are depends on the supply and demand, bitcoin will always take a lead in investment, while Ethereum will be doubted without strong development of ICOs, because ICOs are which make Ethereum becomes famous. |

It's just a strategy, whatever way someone want to use bitcoin or ethereum is just to make profit out of it. It doesn't matter if you used ether in ICO in exchange for bitcoin or others. You techniques in making profit is what matters.

I think ethereum can again peak again but not in this year, because in this year ethereum still a lot of problems so we just wait for the latest news about ethereum. and my opinion about ethereum is great for long-term investing reasons because ethereum has a solid community.

Is there anyone that still believes that? Because ethereum has shown very clearly that is a very good coin to hold for the long term now I prefer to hold bitcoin obviously since its the best coin, however ethereum is the second coin in terms of market cap and if you prefer to hold it instead I do not see anything wrong with it. |

Bitcoin and ethereum are my two main goals of long term investment. The two of them have been long standing in the world of cryptocurrency and has proven their worth. The two have been use as base currencies when it comes to trading so these two are a must when it comes to holdings because they have more volume and used by most people may it be in joining ICOs or any other reasons. Besides, these two are the only currencies that are accepted by the platform I am using so that I can convert to fiat when I need some extra funds for urgent expenses. These two are also good when it comes to trading because they have more volume so most of the time, technical analysis is pretty useful because more people use it. |

Etherum and bitcoin are indeed worth coins to invest. Both are of high quality and potentially big in the future to be alive. Etherum has the advantage of rising steadily, and stable if price drops will not be too far from the previous price, while bitcoin has a high quality that many people love, the price that can rise at any time significantly makes people feel lucky if they can invest with bitcoin.

Both are having different concepts now. Bitcoin is a father of coins while Ethereum is getting mother of Tokens. So both have there importance. And both are getting stronger due to there use.
Investment on both side will not leave u in loss.

Ethereum for sure , its more faster then bitcoin - easy to use and taxes much lower then bitcoin have , i do not understand to wait 2-3 hour for bitcoin confirmation when Ethereum have only 26 seconds/

Whether ethereum or bitcoin, both are having their respective advantages in a goal of investment. Ethereum plays in lower price investment than bitcoin. Moreover, it doesn't mean that ethereum is bad choice to hold for long investment. In this year, there are many speculation that eth it reaches more than $1000. Although eth price is much lower than bitcoin, it can be profitable just like what bitcoin do.
