Tagcoin forked yesterday, and will do a hard fork at block 12,000.  You (or the pool you use) must have v1.02 to continue, but you might not get much or anything at all from now until block 12,000.

Tagcoin's thread is at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=317408.0

Butterfly Labs has a different interpretation of the FTC Mail Order Rule.  You do not have a refund option with the BFL Monarch no matter how late they ship.

I am playing around with the idea of creating a Pinoy Coin, suitable for remittances, and for transacting in Philippines mostly. Was also thinking of how to limit mining to just people in the Philippines, not even sure that is possible yet, or if it is a wise move security wise. Any feedback or ideas on this most welcome.

I have an idea about PinoyCoin. If you want to limit it, you could use geolocation? But people will get around that somehow. You could also make a small chip or USB device that is needed to mine the coin.

but then, that sort of centralizes mining.

No, you really want everyone to mine this. I mean, OFWs are all over the world.

Well..it was just an idea to someone make it more Pinoy ish..Smiley...but yo9u need stable network and I don't think we will have enough miners in the Philippines for a while.. but you are getting oyur setup soon, you can start the mining craze here..:-)...maybe just for CPU coins..

BITCOIN MINING SETUP

Hi folks! Newbie here, been lurking and finally got posting rights today  Smiley

Anyone interested in setting up a bitcoin mining operation in manila? we're looking at preordering T hash rigs. There are known risks and unknowns of course, but we're optimistic on its future. We're still conducting due dilligence, today we believe it will be worthwhile (not to mention the fun while at it).

I know a lot of folks have lots of experience (mine is limited to GUI mining in the advent of asics) and any leads/guidance would be appreciated. Potential partners very much welcome of course. Smiley

Let me know and we can plan an ad-hoc meetup here in Manila. Thanks guys!

If you guys can pool together $5000 USD, I can order a black arrow that does 2 TH/s. But, I can't host it here in Manila. On the other hand, there are already Group Buys for all such rigs where you can "own" shares. I think that's what most people did.

If you're interested in small little miners for personal use, a few of us already have little usb ones and blades and other kinds, but I think those will not ROI (at least not in BTC mined). People buy those for other reasons.

Dabs, Thanks again! Yes, interested and have plans on hosting. Will send you PM. Smiley

Agree having shares on hashing is one business model we're evaluating.

We want to host a monthly meetup at our offices in Makati, to talk over, trade and work with Bitcoin and other crypto currencies (including TagCoin..Smiley ), as well as suggest improvements to the exchange we are building and the escrow system. We are also working on some cool stuff, so you would be the first to learn and play with what we're working on. We will provide drinks and snacks.

Could people on here let us know how many would be interested in coming, what day of the week and what time is best.
