a good speaker is born from an educated person, an educated person must speak carefully and know which to say and what not to say. because educated people think before talking Smiley

I used to watch ted talks on how to present and read psychology books on body language. It did help a lot.

By exposing yourself to crowd and getting used of talking to other people. In that way you can improve yourself.

You have to be first sure about your topic and be confident all that time.

Having a wee bit of confidence and having eye contact with your audience helps.

Most times it is a gift but you can learn by following good speakers and listening to their talks.

You must be able to speak with confidence and should not hesitate at all.

self confidence and content are a very important part for being a good speaker
there are people who have a lot of content but cannot speak up as they lack confidence and have stage fright
there are also people who have zero content but can talk for half an hour without content and the people will also listen as the person speaking is confident about what he or she is speaking
to be a good speaker you  also need to have a little sense of humour which helps to hold on to your crowd people also need to understand the crowds reaction properly for a better delivery of the message they want to convey

notes. You don't want to READ from them, you want reminders about what you want to say, and in what order
friendly faces. If you have to speak, and you're nervous, it's helpful to have someone in the room that is going to like you no matter what happens.
rehearse. I have problems with hitting time marks, so I practice to make sure I'm not going to run over. I also find that when I hear myself speaking outloud, some of the things I was planning on saying just sound funny, and I get to change them before anyone else hears them.

One advice I can give you is watch videos of great speakers and then try to practice by yourself having similar speeches and imagine there is  a huge auditorium in front of you.

In my opinion, what is needed to be a good speaker:

1. First say good
2. Being able to perform well
3. Have deep and broad knowledge
4. Learn and practice anytime, anywhere
5. Believe in people and the good things
6. Desire to help others succeed
7. Do not become a copy of anyone

At first, a person ought to be eager to say something. Strong motivation is the clue.

Be confident on what you are speaking about - practice it until you know it almost off-by-heart.

Take notes. Everyone forgets things sometimes.

Speak slowly where possible - remember that you know what you want to say (hopefully) but the audience may need more time to process it.

Speak loudly but don't shout. If you have the option of a microphone try to avoid handheld ones so you can flip through notes or activate remote for slides.

Try to scan your audience where possible so it looks like you are speaking to them, not just reciting.

Always keep in the back of your mind that you judge yourself way more harshly than anyone else will. I've spoken at many events and meetings and I can still remember times I got something wrong or did something I though was embarrassing. I've seen many more people present and I can't remember any specifics of the times they have made mistakes although I know some made errors (I just can't remember when or who). It's human nature to be self-conscious but you can learn to get past it with practice and perspective.

You should practice speaking in public. And that is how you speak more fluently while speaking.
