Best competitors to Ethereum?

At this moment, I would think only NEO is able to compete with Ethereum. NEO is also launching many ICO and it allows GAS to be generated.

Many are also arguing that NEO is the China version of Ethereum and we all know that when China is involved, their companies can go head to

head with anyone.

However all these blockchains are having challenges regarding their scalability and speed. ArcBlock is building the platform for blockchain 3.0 and aims to solve the speed and scalability issues.

I do not see ArcBlock as a competitor and I think that ArcBlock will build a platform that will really solve lots of current blockchain issues.

at this time there are many new altcoin which is pretty good and have technology, yes even though its value is not too prominent. but it is not impossible in a few months will appear a lot of new altcoin is pretty good. yes, currently there are some that I believe have technology like eth. but I remain confident, eth is always potentially compared to all existing altcoins.

(I know on top of my head that Cardano and IOTA try to challenge Ethereum,

Why do we need any competitors for the ETH if it is doing great by all itself. Lets juts invest into it and get the profits and enjoy our life guys! Why even start the thread to motivate the people to get some competitors for it. ETH has been the great challenger to everyone and hence there form no competitor for it in the first place.  

I know the things like we should know the competitors for the best result so that can stay one step ahead of them but come it doesn't work like that in the crept really. The ETH has maintained its prestige in very broad way and for the matter of facts ETH's characteristic and market can not be committed at this point.

The future best competitor of Etherium-Tezos has not been launched yet ,and there's still no date when it's gonna be.So far Eth is still safe.

If theres is only one coin that can compete with ethereum except bitcoin that would be NEO,it has more advance technology than ethereum,has its own platform like what ethereum has,it is a fully grown coin the community are solid like what Bitcoin and Ethereum has.There will be no doubt if you really research which coin has better technology between ethereum and neo.

I don't think anyone as a competitor for ethereum because it is the most used cryotocurrency when compared to other coins even the bitcoin because many tokens are created based on ethereum.But the price of ethereum is less because of its huge availability so I consider ethereum is best currency after bitcoin there is no competitor yet for ethereum.

ethereum is the top 2 altcoin in all transactions and use also in cryptomarket. after the bitcoin, ethereum has more preference. i think there is no competitors to ethereum  nearly some coins may reach ethereum that is bitcoin cash, ripple and NEO.

LISK has potential if they speed up their development. Big relaunching event in 3 weeks time so it will probably pump end of this month, lots of big talk about how it is superior to ethereum but we'll have to see if they can deliver. Could be a $100+ coin by the end of this year, possibly even more.

i believe ETH has so many competiors that want to take Ethereum down, one of them is Ripple, it has become a perfect altcoins that can be used by banks to control the price of cryptos on the market. it has been supported by many governments on the world to keep controling of many altcoins. so ETH will take a very hard time to defeat Ripple in the future.

NEO Chinese Ethereum. Stellar is technically very good. It can process many transactions.
But we never know which one will take his development to another level.

I think that ETH don't have any competitors at the moment, not during this year at least. There're few blockchains that have good potential like EOS and ICX, but they're still far behind the ethereum. And ethereum also doesn't stand on the same place it's developing and getting stronger.

Probably Neo, OMG, Stratis would be the incoming competitors for Eth

OMG - is a fintech company with products and customers lining up if they are able to release their wallet SDK update

Stratis - somewhat a hybrid combination of Ethereum (APPS) and Dash (masternode)

Neo - has a large support coming from the Chinese community also supports different programming langauage.

As a blockchain, there are lots of altcoins that can compete with ethereum. As a platform for ICO, there are very few that I can think of. I think NEM will have a great year this year. It can surpass ETH in market cap this year if the ICOs on its platform succeed.

Have you checked ICON ? It's Network of networks that will bring the whole block chain together . They have been only going up and improving since the ICO . February and march will be a strong time for the coin since it might get listed in korean exchange and the wallet will be released and much more to come . It's partnered right now with smilegate which is basicly steam of korea and it will start to have ICO's running on their mainnet.

Anybody knows about ELF? It's a South Corean Etherium competitor. Decentralized Cloud Computing Blockchain Network. Full nodes run on cloud servers. Each smart contract runs on its own Blockchain. Token holders vote for decision making and representatives. Worthy competiotor, isn't it?

I think NEO will be able to replace ETH, if at all. This is the closest competitor to ETH, but with a faster transaction processing speed. In addition, if this is true, then it is supported by the Chinese government, which is now important.

Currently the only competitor is NEO (possibility to do ICOs, create tokens and run smart contracts). To be watched in the future how EOS and Cardano will develop since they are still developing their main net (on the paper they are really promising but they need to have a working product)

Maybe a little unexpected, but I think Ethereum can be replaced by the alternative Ethereum Classic.
If Ethereum begins to have problems with transaction capacity, no wonder we can see big capital transfers to Ethereum Classic as it provides the same functionality.

The closest and most real rival of the etherium is certainly NEO, this is one of the few projects that are already really working.
