"Social media giant Facebook has unveiled a new policy that bans advertisements involving bitcoin and initial coin offerings, among others..."

I think that is a bad news. We all know that there are so many facebook user so that if they have an ads about bitcoin and ICOs there's a possibility that they will make a research about it when they saw that they can earn from it but if facebook ban it there's a lot of changes that will happen to us.

Facebook always has the same policy on changes like this.

1. Something gets enough attention/causes enough issues that it gets on the radar of management

2. They implement a broad ban that stops the issue but also affects innocent parties

3. After a few months they come back with a policy that has fixed the issue i.e the advertisers causing issues are banned but the good actors are allowed back.

The same happened when the press made a big deal of the fact that you could target people who selected 'Jew Hater' as their job title.

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/sep/20/facebook-jew-haters-ad-targeting-sheryl-sandberg

A brief ban then back with better policy.

They even said it themselves here:

This policy is intentionally broad while we work to better detect deceptive and misleading advertising practices, and enforcement will begin to ramp up across our platforms including Facebook, Audience Network and Instagram," he wrote. "We will revisit this policy and how we enforce it as our signals improve

TLDR - Facebook will allow crypto ads again once they have found a way to make them responsible.

Actually theres a possibility that facebok is banning ads for bitcoin and ICOs because they think it is one of the scam that spreads in social media even if not they are not one of them scammer.
In short we have a different opinions in terms of security of our funds or investment.

For me this is only a speculation because until now facebook welcome the crypto currency but we should glad of that.I hope we will not abused how facebook welcome the crypto currency.

This is a disinformation, not speculation. Few months ago main news were that several Social Networks
plan to ban ICO and crypto advertising. What happened until now? Now we see how spinning news actually
works. Nothing happened, FUD created about it was a fake alarm.
Like many other fake news this one attracted a lot of attention here on forum. Crypto-currencies doesn`t
depend from Social Networks. If they ban crypto-currencies they will lose a lot of followers. It`s more likely
that they will adopt some crypto, after all they are on internet and whole internet should support crypto-currencies.

I think if facebook is banning ads for bitcoin and ICOs there will be an effect in our bitcoin because ads can help us to get an worker and when we have a lot of worker it can be that the price of bitcoin will be high.

That is a pretty strong move from Facebook, but they do have a history of making rash and unpopular decisions. I think people will gradually move away from Facebook as their censorship and nanny state ideas have basically ruined what was a useful tool.

I agree. However, I see this more of a cleansing rather than total stoppage. I think this will only be temporary because we have to consider that Facebook lives by the market and advertisement, and banning such type of contents would also mean a decrease in the foot traffic they get from the many people logging in to post their cryptocurrency-related contents. I am sure that Facebook won't want that because that may contribute in the decrease of their gains.

This has been on the news for months and it's obvious with what facebook is planning.

They have launched their interest to blockchain and to crypto's as well. If you are not updated with the news, it's a rumor that they'll soon create their own token/coin.

Report: Facebook could be launching its own version of bitcoin

Facebook gives examples of banned advertising. So, now in social network the following types of advertisements are forbidden:
"Click here to learn about a secure crypto currency that will allow you to make payments around the world"
"The new ICO! Buy tokens with 15% discount »
"Use pension savings to invest in bitcoin"
"Start trading options now and get bonuses"

"The new ICO! Buy tokens with 15% discount »
"Use pension savings to invest in bitcoin"

The social network considers such advertisements to be potentially fraudulent and wants to rid them of the audience. "Our main principle of advertising is that it must be safe. Misleading ads have no place on Facebook. We are implementing a new policy that prohibits advertising that promotes financial products and services that are often associated with fraud, "says product manager Rob Lysern.

if this is true, it is a disadvantage for those of us who often participate in social media campaigns, because fecebook is one of the most influential social media with bitcoin, and with this it can be big with bitcoin progress, it can even make bitcoin threatenedlost because the tool promotes him no more, and there are also twiter news also want to ban the ads concerned with bitcoin

That's just banned advertising ico on facebook because of the amount of scams exit ico. Facebook only protects their background because of it ..
As they say, "We want people to continue to discover and learn about new products and services through Facebook ads without fear of scams or deception. That said, there are many companies who are advertising binary options, ICOs and cryptocurrencies that are not currently operating in good faith."

Agree. We can thank shitty ICO for this move of Facebook and Google - without so many problematic ICO, scams and dubious services we will still have crypto related ads.
I am not surprised that social network would rather ban all crypto ads than even trying to investigate which crypto company/ICO/Service is legit.

On the Facebook platform, a new policy was promulgated concerning advertisements for ICO and bitcoin. According to this policy, advertising on FB, which deals with bitcoin and initial placement of coins, is prohibited. According to Rob Leserna, director of product management at the company, the new policy is aimed at advertising that promotes financial services, as well as goods that are often associated with "dishonest" (misleading, deceptive) methods of promoting goods such as, for example, for example, binary options and crypto currency

Was it an official statement by facebook or just some social media fake news?  I don't think facebook would do that.  They are earning profits from advertisement traffic and they have no issue at all with bitcoin.  Just my opinion.
