"Social media giant Facebook has unveiled a new policy that bans advertisements involving bitcoin and initial coin offerings, among others..."

There are many other ways to promote bitcoin aside from Facebook. perhaps they are just clearing there way  out for possible misused of the site! But we can not denied the fact that Facebook  has huge contribution when it comes to advertisement.i hope something can be done to work this out for good.

I just don't think its appropriate for ICOs to land investments on faceboon and sadly some advertisements are just straight up spam ads, Facebook in my own opinion did the right thing here, if ICOs wanted to advertise their platform then I don't think Facebook is the perfect platform to present their ICOs.

That is a pretty strong move from Facebook, but they do have a history of making rash and unpopular decisions. I think people will gradually move away from Facebook as their censorship and nanny state ideas have basically ruined what was a useful tool.

You have a point, I dont even know why they decide for a sudden action involves prohibiting advertisements and Bitcoin related news in their platform, when few months after they allegedly accept Bitcoin in their way of payments rrgarding advertisements. This will affect so much to project teams and if this is hundred percent legit it will be a cons to their side.

This can influence the showcasing procedure of new approaching coins, yet in any case despite everything we have different means and approaches to tell the general population about the digital money. Facebook may took a gander at the negative side that ICOs have, I can feel the conclusion of facebook for not all or most ICOs are shady and simply center in benefit taking. They may imagine that they are being utilized by the shady ones, the pitiful part is that there are ICOs that merit contributing to and holds a great deal of guarantee later on. Expectation they will alter their opinion and turn things around for the advantage of the entire biological community of cryptocurrentcy.

Blocking not only advertising of the next digital coin, but also some kind of questionable, in terms of moderator, financial product.

Facebook always wanted to have a monoploy over user data and ad revenues. With new and new crypto projects coming daily the day is not too far when we will not need facebook. One can check Presiam and instar network projects which are threatening the way facebook works.
It will be really unethical if one day facebook launches its own cryptocurrency.

I think it's just a conspiracy because I still often see some cryptocurrency ads and some ICOs that are on facebook. Don't forget, the Facebook user based isn't that tech savvy, and a run of complaints from soccer moms that have lost their kids college fund isn't going to do Facebooks already tarnished reputation.

I think this will happen very soon as many people get scammed because of those ICO's promoted in that social media. We can't blame mark for doing that, because many people will save from the those scammy icos.

I think the banning of advertisements for Bitcoins and ICO companies is not good in the company
but we should consider that there is a reasonable reason why the facebook will do that, and that is to protect the public from the fraudulent scam which is happen as of this moment.

This will not go down well with bounty programs and I think Facebook will lose some daily users. I'm wondering how distribution of stakes will be like if Facebook end ads on their platform and a bounty is ongoing, facebook bounty very intresting and funny, you must watching posted compaght

I think if facebook is banning ads for bitcoin and ICOs there will be an effect in our bitcoin because ads can help us to get an worker and when we have a lot of worker it can be that the price of bitcoin will be hight, and it's bad Cry Cheesy

Though if that would be final, there still internet tools who advertise cryptocurrencies specially youtube. I personally encounter those ads whenever I surf on youtube videos and its really fascinating.
