Samsung is going to support bitcoin

Today I heard that Samsung is going to make bitcoin mining hardware especially Antminer S9 which I heard that they will name it as 'Samsung S9',

They will probably never use that name.
It's the same name for their current flagship phone , S9 galaxy so it's too risky to have products share the name.

Besides they will be a direct competitor for bitmain not a partner.

Almost all of the Samsung users will then know about this device and so more and more people will then know about bitcoin and the demand and the users of bitcoin will be increased too much.

It's doubtful that anyone having a mobile smartphone hasn't come yet across news about bitcoin.

They create computer's and laptops but I dont think they create and sell mining related technology. Yeah, it is possible to see that bitcoin market is very profitable and they have the advantage of being one of the best companies in the world but still I dont think they would create a mining hardware especially because of bitcoin

Couldn't find anything about samsung accepting bitcoin, nothing even close and the only link on google supporting that is this thread. Maybe it's more of a consideration than a solid statement. Tho I've found something interesting considering samsung besides bitcoin adoption.

This is the first time I've heard about this. That's a good news. Though it is a move that will profit their company, which is natural, but still it has positive effects for the bitcoin community. Samsung is a big company. If they will be making a device for bitcoin mining, more people will believe in the potential of bitcoin.

Thats really a good news.Earlier and even now bitmain the Chinese company dominates the bitcoin mining industry. Later GMO an internet giant of Japan said that it's going to invest millions of dollars in manufacturing bitcoin mining equipments.

Now Samsung a big name in electronic industry has announced to enter the market. It would definitely help decentralization of mining industry. But Samsung manufacturing antminers does not mean that all the Samsung gadget users would get familiar with bitcoin.

Wow it's such a nice news to hear! I'm quite a big fan of samsung too, and like to use their devices.
And knowing that they will make a mining device soon make me want to start mining right away.
Yes, it sure is a great move. If samsung launch a product to mine bitcoin, people will be curious. What's it? What's bitcoin? What's mining and such. They might try to find about it and maybe even get into this crypto world as well?

But still, it takes serious studies before a giant tech company produce chips for miners. They wouldn't invest if they can't market these tech. This will make high hopes for crypto investors that crypto isn't dead.

Good news but sorry I may have to digress a little bit. I won't be surprised that news will start changing soon to positive from the negative ones we have had in recent weeks. Normally, institutions always win since they have all it takes to play with the psychology of investors. Took profit from the top, influenced the media, drove the price back down enough, bought back in and then voila, influence the media again, we start hearing news like Samsung investing into mining gadgets gradually and so much more to come, then we see FOMOs kicing to the moon once again. SMH!

Anyway, back to the main topic, I hope Samsung would come up with a better innovation with the mining gadgets though, most especially with electricity consumption and more efficiency. So good to start having strong players investing in the market.

This can be huge for BTC and for the crypto market in general. Samsung is a huge company, and this goes well it will help the market in two different ways. First it will reduce fees as hashing power will be cheaper and easier to get. Second, if Samsung manages to make good profits, it might consider to invest in other aspects in the market, and surely other big companies will follow this path.

This is great news for SAMSUNG share holders at best and also some positive energy injection to help relieve a bearish crypto market. I also saw this in the Euro News business segment today and have noticed more mainstream media coverage of Bitcoin and Altcoin/blockchain business showing on EURONEWS lately, especially in the last few months.  wonder if they want to compete with companies like NVIDIA?

Neither I haven't seen an official statement about any Bitcoin acceptance, but what I see from the official statements is Samsung is going to make chips, but not a miners. So the chips are officially is in the bag. I believe Samsung consider the crypto mining hype, and want to have an advantage in it.
