Is hodling alts dangerous?

Why it can be dangerous? I think that panic-selling and daily trading of alts is far more dangerous.

It is not dangerous thing but its risky. Altcoins are even more volatile than bitcoin. Its like %100 swings daily possible. So you should stay very focused on coins you choose and how you trade them. OR you lose so much money.

Holding alts might be dangerous if holding doesn't have any strategy. The reason for entering the trade should be equal to the reason for leaving the trade. And proper risk management, which will help to cut losses.

I don't find holding of altcoins to be dangerous, because among the entire altcoins listed on coinmarketcap very few grew while bitcoin was declining in value. But now as the price of bitcoin has started to increase, most of the altcoins too started to increase. This confirms profit on holding of altcoins.

Indeed some altcoins are now getting better in the market placed. There is no dangerous of holding it even if you hodl it for long term investment. Even the marketcap are in red situation that bitcoin now itself are in downward trends. But in everyday changes which bitcoins tends to grow it will influencing altcoins also to grow even better than before.

It depend if project gets or hit the target sale i think there's no worry about holding altcoins if you get your target in price in altcoins that your holding trade your coin.

I just work on bounty at this moment.But every person have a dream.I have a dream.I want to make a big investor.I want to invest on ICO.Can anyone explain me, Have any risk involved invest money on ICO?

Some ico now are scam and its hard to find a legit ico. Some are legit but after they add it on exchange the price are so low than the ico price. If you want to invest i think try a small amount.

well, we can not judge the quality of an ICO, because most of the ICO does have a good concept. even at risk, try minimizing the risks by choosing a good team, reading whitepapers, or investing in ICOs that have reached softcap, or nearly reaching Hardcap.

what projects are you talking about? Alts do not have a project but an ico does. Maybe your talking about ico coins or the one that it's on a bounty?  if it is then your are right. The risk of holding them will depend on their project,  if they manage to get successful , then you can probably earn big on them but if not,  then you can be loose or worst get scammed because almost majority of the ico's are scam. I been scammed many times thru a bounty ico , that's why I need to warned other people like you, so that they can be aware and avoid it possibly.

yes, holding is really dangerous, but the most dangerous think in crypto world is if we not hold anything,

Last year alts rise a lot. I dont know the average percentage. But when I check coins in the market at year 2013 lots of them dead now (too low ranks). probably new tech coins won them (like peercoin, namecoin, ixcoin etc)

Also we are following new ICO s and most of us expecting too much gain from new coins which are not at the market. If our ICO expectations will happen, when they added to market, current market coins will go down. kind of paradox 

It is not unusual to see any new altcoins to lose value when they finally listed in an exchange because investors wants to take profits on the initial market price of the altcoins. But if the new altcoins are solidly developed and managed by a team with good credentials then the potential for higher growth in the future is big. The price downtrend during the first listing of a solid coin is temporary and there is no danger in holding it for as long as the coin have the potential to make it big in the long term.

Some people here said that hodling Altcoins is not dangerous but i don't agree this standpoint. In general, investing in the crypto market is risky investment because the price of altcoins is easy volatile, they can increase more than 50% in a day and can also similar reduction.
Of course, we can reduce the danger by only buying good coins which have solid team and community and at least have top 20 position on coinmarketcap because most of their projects was completed and the price of these altcoins will more and more increasing.

It completely depends on you because how you choose them wisely for investment, there are many coins in the market which has no value. Choose right one will always give you a huge profit, for that you need to wait in order to make more profit on your investment.

I think holding Altcoin harmless. The most important thing that we hold Altcoin good and can promise you. If you hold Altcoin that has no obvious origin it is definitely dangerous. So I suggest before you buy some Altcoin, you have to make sure that Altcoin you hold is Altcoin that can be profitable for yourself.

For me we are just like playing games here...  Sometimes its risky but if you want to earn you will go for it....  I think holding altcoin is good but sometimes it is risky...  We cant calculate what will happen because first of all it is not widely recognized...  But still holding altcoin is good especially if it will help us to earn profit... Holding altcoin is not dangerous but we cant deny the facts that sometimes it is...  Just make sure that the altcoin youv'e join has an atleast 60 percent chances to succeed because if it is not it is much better not to try it if you didn't want to take a risk...

I think holding the coin is not a dangerous thing, but it becomes a strategy in investing. The strategy in investing when following the ICO is when the token obtained does not have a high price and is not registered in the market that is done is holding the token. But if after the token distribution is already in the market, but according to you the coin is not having good quality, you should immediately sell the coin.

I think not dangerous, but that depend what altcoin you will hold. Because there a lot altcoins can be choose, but not all it has good future. You must analyze it at the market and you must have good speculation of it. So the conclusion, no danger but to be patient and wisely.

Well it's not dangerous per session , then again it depends on the coin you are holding and the market condition.if market goes down then most of alts without strong backing go down as well

depending on the proportion of each coin we hold, many have strong goals and always run on their community roadmaps and crowds, this is a benchmark for all running volume, if our analysis is strong then we will not incur losses and can sell altcoin quickly for potentially dead.

Yes, it comes from two phases altcoins brings profit and at the same time it brings loses if it is not properly manage for we all don't know every coins destiny and mostly we rely on speculation without properly track its market value.
