There is some danger always, I do not recommend investing in subconsins that have not heard the name and do not trust the project idea and keep it in your hand for a long time. Up to 5% of the market offers useful projects. Many of them are made from the ones who are destroyed or sent to prison or deceit.

Last year alts rise a lot. I dont know the average percentage. But when I check coins in the market at year 2013 lots of them dead now (too low ranks). probably new tech coins won them (like peercoin, namecoin, ixcoin etc)

Also we are following new ICO s and most of us expecting too much gain from new coins which are not at the market. If our ICO expectations will happen, when they added to market, current market coins will go down. kind of paradox  Huh
This is a very interesting market and it is very competitive. To succeed in the Crypto market, you must have a great idea and excellent staff.
Much like the fact that more coins are produced, the coin values and features will be significantly reduced by outdated technology.

Hodling long term always has its advantages, the key it to remember to take profits at some point, this bear market would have taught a lot of people this with Alts drooping 75%+
At least take your initial investment out if you get 200-300% increase or for less risky 30-50% this is what the past 4 months has taught me
And as always research your investment and still to you plan time wise before taking the bulk of it out

Keep the coins harmless, the dangerous ones when you sell your coins at a time when market prices are falling. Do not be rash in selling altcoin at a cheap price. Be patient to wait until the market price rises, so your investment is growing properly and you can enjoy the returns on your investment. If your ICO token is not available in the market then wait until it appears on the market to sell or exchange with another superior coin.

Holding altcoins is not a dangerous investment but highly lucrative for those who understands the market. However, it require more trading skills and experience to be a successful altcoins investors/holder

They are dangerous but if you are lucky you will become a millionaire in a very short time, the Crypto market is for risk takers. dare to take risks. Be patient and discreet when making a decision.

There are thousands of tokens available in the market and thousands are in a queue to join the crypto market. We need to do some rigorous research before investing in any ICO/token, whole crypto market is unregulated and volatile. Nobody can take care of your investment except you. Pay attention to whitepaper, team, roadmap and is there any live version of the product available.

In everything we do there's a risks, if you hold an alt and you think it will be successful then I would say it's not dangerous. Just be careful in choosing which alt you will be holding, be observant and you must know the difference between shitcoins and coins with future so you won't regret ar the end.

Holding altcoins is dangerous because you can lose your investment if the the altcoin has no potential so if I were you I will find an altcoin which is really strong and will not ever lose profit . Do it by conducting a research and then conclude if you like to invest or not .

I always prefer to keep altcoins in my portfolio. I do not think altcoins that I trust in the project will hurt. Yes, but I earn a lot when I win. Obviously I trust Ethereum more than Bitcoin long-term

Actually it’s rewarding from my point of view. Holding coins mean you are not selling your coins when they are down. What i learnt from this market is nothing lasts forever. If your coins are down a lot they will probably recover and reach even higher. Don’t panic and think your coins are dead or they will stay worthless forever. Panicking is our worst enemy.

It depends on what types of coins you have in your portfolio. If you are holding more established altcoins such as Ethereum, LItecoin, Neo, and Ripple then i don't see any problem, you can hold them as long as you want. If you are holding a lot of shitcoins in the hope that they would make you rich in future then you are taking a great risk, as there are a lot of shitcoins that would fail in future.

first of all you need to be convinced of the prospects of the project, And already when you can draw conclusions and pronounce some guarantees for your investments. Of course, if you take coins from the top ten, then their rating speaks for itself.

To be honest it is risky sometimes. I was thinking like holding is the best option , even if it falls i know it would go back up but i learned it is not the best opiton. You can make trades instead of holding to prevent stable loss. Otherwise it is like a gambit. You just have to wait till things get back to normal and we don't know when this happen.

When you invest with no knowledge, no matter what you invest in, you will lose. Investing in one way or another only reduces the capital loss.

Yes, it is likely that the substitution of the old coins new. This is the natural process of birth and death of the altcoins.

Is it dangerous to keep old altcoins? Here, each situation needs to be discussed individually, because everything depends on the project, what technical part it has.

it is not dangerous to protect the old altcoin. depending on how the development of altcoin is in the future, if it is still a chance in the future I think it is not dangerous if you hold the old token
