If you want to invest money, it's a good idea to check every information you have at your disposal, and for sure whitepaper is the first thing to read. But of course it's not enough, because you need to check if you really can trust what it's written there. So, whitepaper must be checked, but it's only the starting point. Hey, bro, we are talking about YOUR money!

If reading the entire thing is a burden for you, I'd suggest read the Executive Summary first. They usually capture every important info they want investors to know. These summaries are usually a page long. With that if you find something interesting and is worth more of your time, then you can decide to delve into it further. Truth is that as serious investor you need to read them, especially now that a lot of scams are happening. It helps you distinguish valuable/real projects from the rest.

If you want your money to be in the right place and not in a scammers hand, then take the pain to read through white papers. Going through the entire white paper should be your first step in investing on any ICO!

Yes of course! I read whitepaper before I make attempt to invest in any ICO, I see it as part of research i need to make before I contribute. Investor should try to know the goal of any projects he want to invest and how efficient the devs teams are, which are all included in the whitepaper.

In theory is a good idea to read all you have at your disposal to know the company you're thinking to invest in. But I've the impression that all whitepapers are made with the same template, and in any case you can't verify the accuracy of the statements. So, read it, but try to have different source of information before to put your money somewhere.

let's be honest I don't really read the whole thing most of the time. but if you are gonna be investing to that company you should definitely go over it so you can get all information about what you are investing in.

yes i did so many times. but if you are an investor and not interested about the technology of the ico, really you dont have to read all the whitepaper. it is not so much important to read all. you should check the important parts like a summary of the idea, team, token sale details etc.

First thing I do is look at the Token/coin metrics, then the team behind it and if Im still interested only then will I go on to read the white paper. I do it that way as If the token metrics are unsuitable to me, and the team is weak then Im not going to invest so the white paper is irrelevant. Thats just my way of doing it.

I know some people who watch the market trends and I know some people who read white papers. Those that do both have the highest rate of success. Those who read the white paper only tend to have more success than people who invest based only off the market trends.

Nope because I don't diddle around in ICOs anymore. I remember those headache days of having to read whitepaper, ah how I thought I was living the dream. My goodness I couldn't have been more wrong, but kudos to those who have the heart to read these things. Lastly it is important to know I am not a technical person or coder, so getting through these papers is quite confusing to put it mildly.

Well, I want to be honest. I don't have the time to go through all the white-papers and there are thousands of them out there. I have read only two white-papers till now. Those of Deep Onion and Denarius. And even then, I was in a hurry and went through the documents very quickly.

Reading a white paper is as crucial as buying the crypto. If you are not reading the whitepaper, do not even bother investing that company. Just like the market itself, everything is based on speculation but make informed decisions rather than going just off speculation.
Not saying that speculation isn't good. Listen to it but base your judgement on what you read and see.

I have another question: how can you invest your money (I am sure you were working very hard to earn it) if you do not read the Whitepaper? If you miss it, you simply throw out your cryptocurrency or fiat.
