Dear all,

I just heard some of my friends chatting in a gathering and they think Bitcoin is scam and Ponzi. I just give them a smile and wish they will educate themselves a bit.

So, I would like you to give me some suggestions, how I can give them some hints with soft words which can change their mind or at least give them some more space to think twice?

Do you have enough education about how bitcoin and blockchain work ? If yes told them, explain all of that to them, if they still dont believe that bitcoin is currency of the future just let it like that, at least you allready told them. And in the future when you allready succes and drive a lambo you ome again to them and tell this is what bitcoin can do to your life

Some people are simply close minded, and there's nothing we can do with that. If I we're you, I'd just explain to them what a "ponzi" really means and how bitcoin isn't a ponzi, because it never promised any returns. Don't waste your time trying to convince people in to an industry that they probably couldn't understand.

My friends were skeptical at first (this was around 2014) and started asking me about Bitcoin last year when we hit the all time high. And stuff about Bitcoin just blurted out of my mouth, explained them how Bitcoin works, what is mining process, why is the price always swinging up and down like crazy, etc. In the end, I realized that they're only interested to become rick quickly.

My advise is to tell them the good and bad things about Bitcoin in general first, let them process the information you give and let them decide what is Bitcoin for them. Ignore my story above as most of my friends are jerks.

I still get it from some of my friends and relatives. They still think that Bitcoin is just a scam even on how much I educated them how block chain works. Some people are not just really open to change. The only thing that we could do them is try to help them understand crytpo currency if they are not open minded then it is not our lose.

Skeptics will always be skeptics. The thing is, if you are having a hard time trying to convince them of the BTC, then show them how much it is worth, and that it can be legally sold for a high price. If something is a scam or a ponzi, then why does it have value, it is as simple as that.

For some people the problem is they can't look past what Bitcoin means to them morally.  The more conservative type may be resistant to change.  I would recommend they read books such as Digital Gold and The Internet of Money.  Tell them to youtube andreas antonopoulos and start from his beginning videos.

Great quote from Andreas Antonopoulos -"I think many of the intellectually honest people eventually stop being critics, because they suddenly realize that the flaws they are identifying are temporary features, issues, and not inherent problems. There are very few inherent problems in a dynamically evolving design or ecosystem of different designs all competing, that cannot be resolved.  There are critics who criticize this technology primarily based on their world view.   It is politically inconsistent with their world view.  It’s not that they do not like the technology it’s that they do not like the implications of this technology and the primary criticism you get then is “this should not be” to which all I can answer is ..and yet it is.  “but we mustn’t”… and yet we did, “but you shouldn’t”.. but yet we did".

Also Wall-street now has direct ties to Bitcoin with Futures CBOE/CME groups etc.

You do not need to care about them. All you need to do is show them your return on investment in the crypto market. Action and results are things that appeal to people.
Do not say much and just act. Their friends are lazy and do not want to work for the crypto market. That is my opinion and hope you will refer and apply them.

I could not blame your friends why they have this kind of mindset about Bitcoin and I assumed cryptocurrency in general. On thing for sure is that right now, there are many people who got evil intentions and they are scamming people left and right all because there is really a brewing interest for cryptocurrency this is not to mention the many phishing and hacking attacks we heard from time to time. I have been one of the many victims of phishing and the feeling is never nice to say the least.

So what you can do? i suggest you do nothing...it is not your duty to convince anyone and it will be much more helpful if you let them discover for themselves the whole truth about cryptocurrency. You don't want to place yourself as the one to blame just in case their experience with cryptocurrency may not turn out to be so positive. We know how volatile this market is and if one is a faint-hearted then this industry may not be for that person.

to be honest i have never seen anybody in real life that thinks bitcoin is a scam or Ponzi scheme. these are the things that i have always heard people say online!
in real life they may be scared of the price, think it is a bubble, think government can ban bitcoin, think bitcoin can die if they buy it, and a lot of things like that but never heard anyone mention scam. your friends are either idiots or have ONLY been reading some FUD about bitcoin from one source and never even bothered googling what bitcoin is.

It's hard to convince them if they are already close minded about the topic. If you insist on giving them some advice they would just not listen to you and some may even avoid you because they would think you wanted them to be involved in the "scam" so just let them be. Let them discover it for themselves. They would approach you if in case bitcoin is doing better and they will see it all over the news. I personally don't discuss it openly to my friends unless they are the one who are asking for it because I might be branded as scammer if in case I would convince them to invest and then they invest and the price went down.

Bitcoin lives since 2009 and has already confirmed that this is not a Ponzi scheme.
Today, the entire world economy begins to depend to some extent on bitcoin.

Sometimes you just can't convince others.. you'll have people naturally hate anything that they aren't involved in and their only real defense when you have 1000s of % gains is "but itll goto zero eventually" or "its a scam".. the more successful you are, the more haters you'll come in contact with.. its the way you know what youre doing is successful.

how I can give them some hints with soft words which can change their mind or at least give them some more space to think twice?
1. Tell them that currency has evolved from Barter--> Gold--> Paper Instruments/ Cheques--> Wire transactions. These all were essentially generated by centralized entities. Tell them this is not necessarily a good thing and that Bitcoin enables this to be decentralized for the first time.

2. Tell them its going to be widely accepted one way or the other, why not atleast educate themselves and be future-ready.

3. Tell them that what would have happened if they had bought into Google and Facebook years ago. People said that search service like Google cannot be monetized. But hey, Netowork effect.

4. Understand the above things properly yourself for a more convincing argument.

5. Tell them to invest time and brains into this to be future ready.  Tell them to invest only what they can afford to lose after they understand the above points.

Lastly, the most adamant amongst them are the ones who think they missed the train and are bitter about it. They are the money minded children of God and you can really do nothing about them. Its best that they stay away. Those people are typically scammers as they'll do anything for the money.

they think like that because they have no knowledge about bitcoin, I think you have to explain what is bitcoin and how it work for them. explain slowly until they are can understand what you mean. we have to do something and bitcoin will getting more famous so that the bitcoin enthusiasts will continue to grow.

It is just normal because bitcon is already in the news and the news it telling the bitcoin is just a big scam so already a lot of people are get influnce by the media and at the same time the bitcoin is really use in illegal transaction in the black market so they see bitcoin as a thing in the deep web because it is the currency use in the deep weeb.

Yes, my family and friends still think bitcoin is a scam. They still don't believe me when I tell them about the mining principles of bitcoin and its development around the world. I don't know how to explain it to them.

I think your friend is a person who has not understood yet more about bitcoin so they give an assumption that bitcoin is a scam. so whatever others say about bitcoin that they have not understood at all do you think you should not be too bothered to give them a smile.

Do not push someone to learn if they are not willing. It is nonsense if you forced them to ride back at your want. Let them free or else they will blame you if it will fail. Nothing to worry because you said it already to them. Its up to them if they will accept your offer or not.

Ignoring them would allow you to keep investing and making that money when the price of Bitcoin improves.
