Well what a pickle, it seems for the cost of this unit, it would mine roughly 12 coins before becoming usless. and at today's coin alue you could buy 12 coins for the same price...

I'm thinking either we need a new spike in BTC or miner's need to come down in price. All my investor's just pulled pin opting to buy BTC instead. as I couldnt promise more than 12 coins per machine return Sad

Well, looks like I am pulling out from my 2nd X3. Sad
1st one was 4.9 BTC, 2nd one would be 11.6 BTC Sad
All because BA cannot answer their tickets in timely manner.

Now, why would I go further into becoming a Reseller if BA will hang me and my customers out to dry with any issues???
Last BA reply: 2 weeks 3 days.

From AR form:
"We have developed an Authorized Reseller program that will provide you and your customers with superior service and technical support second to none."

"Second to none" is that like based on TerraHash's and BFL's support?

Sorry, just very frustrated at this point.

Just out of curiosity, was it that hard to incorporate BitPay into the website?

Still waiting for minersource team and transferwise to sort out how to send/receive payment after a week...whoever recommended transferwise had not used them to do a wire transfer as for some reason they cannot use a wire transfer number but only aba electronic transfer numbers, do not bother using them until miner-source confirm they can receive payment from them....
Transferwise basically told us we would have to "try" a payment to see if it would even work. Their CS towards us was very unprofessional, if not outright insulting. They refused to provide a copy of their terms, stating "this email is more than enough legal proof if you need".

I'll speak to them again on the phone tomorrow and if they can't do a wire transfer then will ask them to re-fund me in full, can't have that amount of money sitting with them if they can't even do what they advertise!  Angry

Can you explain what is happening here?  You did a wire transfer to minersource, but they are not able to confirm the transfer or something?

Curious because I have an order with them but I have yet to wire anything yet.....  hearing about potential wiring problems (but i'm not exactly sure of details)
Amusingly enough, bank wires still have a manual component to them at many banks.  In some cases, accounts are limited to certain number of wires a day, or a month.  If an account suddenly starts receiving numerous large wires, that could trigger fraud alerts as well...  Lots of ways things could get bogged down in bureaucracy.

Well there hasnt been any word on whether orders can be transferred, but if confirmed they can be, and if anyone wants out and just wants their btc back I will pay them their btc that they put in for X-1's only at this time?

If anyone is getting cold feet that is...

Eh, not cold feet. But math.
Calculator's project only a return of 12ish bitcoins. At the current rate your spending 10 on the machine. So your investing waiting and hoping to making maybe 2 coins.

My investor's backed out. so instead of 3 machine's coming here. I'll likely bu a few X-1's and be done with it. Not worth the risk over 2 coins for most people!

I'm sure they will too.

BA had better announce a damn good discount ASAP if they wanna keep sale's going. At $500/BTC no one will be buying miners.

I've moved form having them host 2-3 machines to like ly only buy 1 or a few x-1's for at home Sad

I wouldnt mind some coinage back from the machines I already bought, nice to have that policy where more discounts equals money back for previous buyers.  I would probably just buy more product with it.

Heck I would buy more X-1's if a price drop brought it back to about .4 btc ea.

I'd buy a lot more to if I knew what BTC price I would pay instead of waiting and praying that exchange rate wouldn't crash land by the time I get the bill from them. lol

I believe you have to have a strong 'hold' position on BTC to be getting into miners -- not just now, but even earlier this month (or any time I guess). I'd be a little surprised to see a discount. Maybe if BTC is still stagnant in late January/February, but to discount now is probably premature. It's unlikely they need to drive a whole lot more new sales for batch 1 at this point, though who knows.

Let's not forget the hardware is still has major re-sale value to those who want in the game, there are kNC jupiter's selling for £10k + on ebay at 550ghs, the people selling up have already mined and now using profits and return to upgrade to the newest hardware.

No offense Zurg but you have had several statements. First you say that you ordered 1 then you say your order was screwed up when all you wanted to do was order a second unit for the same price as the first after the discount had changed. Now you are back to pulling out of the second order. Anyway... I think you were trying to get one over on them with the second order by complaining. In all honesty If I were Black Arrow I would not want to reply to your tickets either because no reply could make you happy.. you are just one of those customers that businesses dont want to have.

I am in no way affiliated with Black Arrow so my post should not reflect on them.

As you know, Bitcoin's value tumbles in half after PBOC (People Bank Of China) forces top exchange to stop trading.
But it is not clear if the ASIC miners producers are affected too...

According to their website, the company Black Arrow is located in China:

Address:
801, Building 2, Huangduguangchang, Yitian Road, Futian District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, P. R. China, Postcode: 518048

公司地址:广东省深圳市福田区滨河大道与益田路交界东南皇都广场2号楼801 邮编:518048

Skype:

My questions are:
Is Black Arrow affected by the events from China ?
Had BA delivered yet ?
Will BA deliver any Prospero anymore ?

They're not an exchange, so no, they aren't affected.

You're not alone with this problem. Nobody seems to be allowed to exchange local currency for Bitcoins in England either.

We just use www.localbitcoins.com you don't need banks!  Wink

This is also why cloud mining is a bad idea for the Bitcoin network, it's not decentralized, and easy for a government to seize.

Please allow me to clarify (with pictures).
All times are EST.

On Nov 30th, I placed an order #2076 for 1 X-3.

(email timestamp: Sat, Nov 30, 2013 at 12:12 AM)
On Sat, Nov 30, 2013 at 3:10 PM I get email from Julia with payment information.
(In order to complete your order please pay 4.87393 BTC to 1MLzMsW31Q6t2LgPZT1jFAM8dedtUS5NKA.)
On Sat, Nov 30, 2013 at 3:41 PM I reply to Julia's email:
"Hi Julia,

I would like to purchase 1 additional X3 unit. Doubling my purchase.
Let me know what is the best way of doing this in one BTC transaction.
You can send me an invoice for 2 Prospero X-3's.

Thank you."

A few hours later: (I paid for my Order #2076)
Status: 3319 confirmations
Date: 11/30/2013 22:28
To: BrackArrow #2076 1MLzMsW31Q6t2LgPZT1jFAM8dedtUS5NKA
Debit: -4.87393 BTC
Transaction fee: -0.0001 BTC
Net amount: -4.87403 BTC
Transaction ID: f323c83deb8a5a68a5a1f1074155453ad9863772fec9c36894e8765f34894026

At: Sat, Nov 30, 2013 at 10:33 PM I placed Order# 2166
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10948184/BA/Order2166.JPG

Mon, Dec 2, 2013 at 7:08 PM Confirmation that my Order #2076 is PAID
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10948184/BA/Order2076-paid.JPG

Mon, Dec 2, 2013 at 7:25 PM My order #2076 is modified!
Notice how the price jumps.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10948184/BA/Order2076-modified.JPG

Mon, Dec 2, 2013 at 7:26 PM My order 2166 gets cancelled??? WTH? How, why?
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10948184/BA/Order2166-canceled.JPG

After that I emailed them and asked to correct the price of the 2nd X3 to match what was on my order 2166.
No reply.
I would actually have been cool and paid if they replied in a day or 2 and even if they said NO. It was about 6 BTC which I actually had.
But they don't reply and as we all know BTC on BTC-e is what $506 right now.
So now my difference for the 2nd X3 would be 12.4 BTCs which I don't have.
Yet they still not reply.
All I want at this point is for them to remove the 2nd X3 from my #2076 and mark as Paid.

Because they aren't replying my 2076 can't get fixed and at some point they might even not put it in batch 1 because it's marked as not fully paid.

So how exactly am I trying to pull one over on them?

Just a heads-up to others expecting one or more 2U X-3s this spring. There are renders on the Black Arrow website, which depict a 'module' for the X-3 and mention that there will be two of those. Then in the features, 2U is stated as the size. I wasn't sure if that was the total size, or per module.

Turns out both are wrong. Here's a clarification from the mod (David) on Black Arrow forums:

Quote
The size is 3U per unit so this would be a total of 6U for every X-3.

I'm going to need to adjust my rackage. I suppose it could still change as they sort the cooling and finalize the prototypes, but the above sounds pretty clear for now.

There really is no reason to suspect that ASIC Manufacturers would be effected. The only thing BTC related that they deal with regard to payments and it is still possible for them to cash out BTC. The  problem is that in China you cant deposit into an exchange.

As I understood, the directive also forbade selling of goods and services for bitcoin in China because bitcoin was considered a virtual good, not a currency. At least thats what I heard BTCchina's CEO say on a podcast recently. Its unclear to me if pricing in dollar or CNY and fulfilling the payment with BTC is considered legal or not. If not, it would affect any Chinese bitcoin company, and we'd have to revert to paypal/western union/wire transfers.

Hey Bob, I wired money on Monday and nothing has changed to paid on my account yet, I understand that this is a manual process, but when can we expect updates for wire transfers?
I have over 20 wires still "pending", I update wires twice a day, ones that clear in the morning and ones that clear before I go to sleep.
Let me know if your order has not cleared by tomorrow.
