Yes, your point of view is correct, I think 2018 ICO prices are falling, which found no ICO price is rising, perhaps because of the encryption market is very weak.

But I'm not going to give up ICO, I still invest in ICO.

Investing in ICOs are not profitable anymore. When they are listed on exchanges, they don't do well.

Since I have no money to invest in any ICOs, nor have money to buy several altcoins, then might as well join campaigns that will give me altcoins without the hassles of thinking about the current trends in the market.

I do not think it is not have profit . I do not like investing in ICOs because I see too many fraudulent projects. But if I choose a good campaign, I will invest.

Some Ico's once listed in theexchanges the team don't do anything to enhance their project. Investing an Ico's are not profitable these days so many frauds after they raised huge money. Only few I can say good and true to their words because they follow their roadmap and promise to workout the project.

Interesting point of view.
I'm on exactly opposite end - I'm going deeper with ICO's this year.

Your points are pretty valid, but this mean you just need to be more peaky where you are investing. And I'm always and only buying during the pre-ico phase, avoiding those ICO's with massive pre-sale.
I agree with you. Likewise here, I am just new to this ICOs and I am still trying to figure out which is better and what must be avoided. And thank you, I am going to learn and follow what you said in here.

Hi I am currently executing an ICO project of a hard cap of $500m USD total but in 5 $100m USD trenches.
We currently have institutional investors but lack retail investors.
Does anyone have any idea how to bring in more retail investors??

Fortunately, there are still ICOs that are legit enough to be worth of your money, time, and effort. But i think, there are more ICOs that are scam than those legit ones. I won't quit on ICO as long as i will do deep investigation on it first before i trust them.

As I pointed out before, I do not have one case where I lost 90% but I think it also comes down to if you hold after the projects hits the exchanges or if you sell as soon you are in the green. I say typically goodbye when I made 50% profit.p

0p you have a very strong justification for one to quit ICO although there are some good project that are still worth for one to invest his or her money and wait for a while for a good return on investment.

p.s. when a Telegram has over 20k subscribers all screaming 'when lambo' with endless rows of animated gifs, you may also wonder if this is a serious block chain solution which will revolutionize 'x' Smiley
Haha not only on telegram channels but also in social media groups, you'll see these people who are commenting about lambo's.  Grin

Yes most of their tokens after listed on an exchange they are going down due to the massive dump and investors who just waited for that turn.

If you will ask me if it is good to quit ICO's then i will say that it is not a good idea to just quit ICO's. ICO's is one of the best place to grow your money because by just investing your money there then you can expect at least 100% return for your investment and that is the worst case scenario to just get at least 100% return because most of the ICO's are giving higher than that return so that is why it is a very great place to invest our money.

This is your point of view and im not against it. But for me, some ICOs help me a lot. Though i dont really invested on them and just got my tokens from bounties. Some of the thing you pin-pointed is really true and also in observe. Especially with this "many ICOs", and yes there are so many ICOs existing now in the market and somehow its very confusing where to invest. We cant also differentiate which one of them is a scam. Most of it is really a legit project that have their roadmap that attract many investors. This is a  scary part being involve in this ICOs. So i guess somehow i can feel your sentiments.

I decided to quit ICO's. From December till now I invested about 5 eth into several ICO's. Invest what you can miss, this is what was able to miss.

Right now the first few of my ICO's have reached the exchanges. Most are under performing, but this is related to the overall dip (can be read everywhere). I understand, but ICO token economics have changed also.

  • massive hardcaps
  • most is sold in pre-sale to big investors, leaving scraps for crowdsale
  • much attention to marketing, less to working product or realistic time lines
  • immediately available on EtherDelta and IDEX, sure sign of little interest in token economics/future
  • no lock on pre-sale tokens, whales take their x2, x3 or x-whatever as soon as possible (I would probably have done the same). Prices drop to below ICO price.
  • too many ICO's without distinctive differences.
  • too many ICO's in general
  • too much tokens reserved for team/marketing
  • many ICO's don't even have a crowdsale anymore (which perhaps is a good thing as the little investors are protected this way)
  • ICO prizes are quite high. 1eth = 1000/4000 tokens is pretty common, but with a hc of 40 million, this will not easily go x10 or more.

I was 'unlucky' to miss out on a few ICO's besides the ones I was able to participate in. Afterwards I am glad, since I was able to pick most up at a fraction of the ICO price.

Important as ever: DYOR as not all ICO's have a genuine solution to a genuine problem. Some may seem like a fantastic solution, but often it is marketing combined with a strong team, and not so much a great working product.

And who am I? I am definitely a nobody Tongue, but still wanted to share my experiences and perhaps save people from thinking of getting on board of the next x100 ICO Smiley

p.s. when a Telegram has over 20k subscribers all screaming 'when lambo' with endless rows of animated gifs, you may also wonder if this is a serious block chain solution which will revolutionize 'x' Smiley
You have a point but it depends on us if we joined without thinking and planning on how our first step before we moved to joined ICO Project. But for me try to research their team, read the whitelist  and the project they handle so that you have a good reference.

Man am also quitting ICOs , this January and February have been a disaster in my ICO world, look at my investments in the last 2 months at ICO price and current price
ICO price  .................CURRENT PRICE ($)
CPY at 1.15.......  ...0.14
seth     2..................0.3
Exyperty 1..............0.1
Iungo1.5................0.08
Ian 2.5................0.9
FUCK icos for now
I'm sorry for you that you are having such a huge losses at the same time it seemed that you invested in just too many icos and that you invested in probably the worst possible time, as long as the project that you selected are decent then you could recover your money eventually but you are going to lose a lot of other opportunities to invest your money and you need to hope that those icos recover before the price of bitcoin does or your losses may increase while the price of bitcoin grows and the price of your icos stay the same.

indeed choose ico should be careful, because it affects future results that we get and time we use. so the necessary steps to be effective.
from teams, whitelist we can see the future of that ico project, and dont forget we must seeing preico sale to calculate that project success or not

The trend of the ICO has exhausted itself, now it is much more profitable to buy a coin on the stock exchange after the end of the ico. As a rule, in the first months of their price falls in two to three times the price of the ICO.
Now it is very difficult to find a good project for investment, it takes a lot to read and study, it's quite a difficult job, so I prefer not to invest at the sale stage, but buy on the stock exchange.

This is your perspective and im not against it. Yet, for me, some ICOs help me a great deal. In spite of the fact that I dont truly contributed on them and just got my tokens from bounties. A portion of the thing you stick pointed is extremely valid and furthermore in watch. Particularly with this "numerous ICOs", and yes there are such a large number of ICOs existing now in the market and by one means or another its exceptionally befuddling where to contribute. We cant additionally separate which one of them is a trick. Its vast majority is extremely a genuine venture that have their guide that draw in numerous speculators. This is a startling part being include in this ICOs. So I figure by one means or another I can feel your suppositions.

At this stage, almost all ICO are in minus, even the effect ai, not to mention the ordinary. Now is the time of stagnation for everything.

Because the ICO's now is not like before this is the very painful moment knowing that it's like end up all. You are right the ICO's now are like no potentials or their project seems like they do it nothing, I'm not judging but this is also what I noticed now a days.
