Long term vs. short term investing

Hello my dear Bitcoin brothers.

I would like to ask you about your experience with day/swing trading vs. long term investing and also,
what was more profitable for you and what are pros and cons for both ways of trading?

This question interests me since market is very volatile and it can get quite easy to exploit daily range for a quick small profit.

Short term investing is for people who can spend more time on this. For people like me with full time jobs, long term investments are best. Volatility does not matter in long run.

This is a very good question.First i would comment on long term investment.Simply those investors who invested in 2016 or in the beginning of 2017 and held their investment,they received highest return over their investment because they did not sell their investment when BTC going under dip and waited for pump up time and sell their investment when BTC reached to top height $20783.For long term investment you have to maintain your courage and continuously keep eye on Coin market cap.You will get reward more than your expectations.

2nd part is short term investment those who invested for short term lets suppose those who bought BTC early in Jan-18 suppose on $13000 and sold their investment on 6th Feb-18 when BTC price reached to $5984 so they got disappointed and sold their investment with loss.

So long term investment is highly preferable in BTC.

First off, i am not a trader myself, Not that i don't like it but because i am really bad at it. I am more of bounty campaigns and long term investment. For me, such ways are more convenient and seems manageable, a bit less complicated so to speak. When it comes to profits, i gain more in long term although it may take me some time to enjoy my earning but its okay with me.

Both actually works in bitcoin. Trading your investments for a certain period of time works as long as you know the best moment to trade. Investing for a longer time works too as well so as long as the investments does not steadily decline its value....

In my opinion, for people who have less investment money, it is better to invest in some altcoins for a longer period of time or if they can trade on the market.
The crypto market is very good for this purpose due to its high volatility.

Short term is more profitable than longer term base from my experienced. But the downside is that you have to monitor the coin you are invested to 24/7 so that you will know every thing that happens to it if everything went south.

FIrst of all the OP is talking about trading or investin g I am little confused to understand the OP and the tittle.

By the way long term investing is the best way to make more money from crypto currencies but investing on short term can help us make good money but we need to change periodically to differenct coins if you want to invest on short term so it needs more effort and analytical skill.So I will say long term investing is best.

If you have so much free time that you don't know what to do with them, and you also have bunch of money to waste, maybe you can try day trading. But expect that you could earn or lose a lot in just a matter of hours, maybe. But you are already busy with your daily routine, try long tern one. Going long-term will not affect your daily schedule. So you'll have almost nothing to worry about.

In long term investment, you can earn bigger profit because you can choose when to sell it when the price much bigger than when you invest. While in short term investment, you can earn but just a little percentage because the price is not moved bigger than when you invest

I guess it was really obvious in this case i guess im been trading for a long time and in my experience what always work is the long term investment and short time investments lead to low profit but i guess you really need to have know ledge n the token that you are holding in because we already see token that doesnt have a potential in growing.

i prefer long-term investing is best in crypto whereas short-term investing we can see lot of benefits in long-term investing like 3 to 5 times of profit

Long-term investments tend to hold the said products or investment more than a year or generally intended to hold for several years to maximize the profits. On the other hand, Short-term investment is usually held less than a year and can get a minimum profit. I prefer Long-term other than scalping/short-term if the said product or project holds a good opportunity to maximize my profit on it.

These days I am doing short term investing. I am able to get decent 10% returns in a week or so.

It depends on what you want. If you want a quick small profit, you can trade on altcoin. Bitcoin is good for both but I prefer bitcoin on a long time hodl,  it is more profitable and at least with 70% chance of not losing your investment on the long term.

Indeed. It will really depend on what you want but I suggest you must prefer to do long term investment where you can assure that you could earn huge amount of money and income. I agree that bitcoin is good for long term investment so that you must hold it and wait for the right time to sell it.

I think I prefer choosing long term invesment. I think, when doing short term or daily trading I should understanding about technical analysis and I dont have any skill on technical analysis. I am choosing long term because its more relax for me to hold

Personally, I now try not to make any transactions, since I wait the market stabilizes and  the usual rhythm.  But there are still coins in the market at which an acceptable price and which can be purchased.

The answer is very easy: if you want to invest alot of money then go for long term investment, all you have to do is to choose a good project and buy as much as you can.
If not, day trading is the best for you, you can earn alot from high fluctuations but this strategy require a full dedication, it can be a matter of seconds between winning and loosing.

Long term investment is for those who wanted to earn more in long period of time while short time investment are those buy and selling in a short period of time but earn limited profit. Good things about long term investment when time come you  can expect higher return with out  so much spending time in monitoring this is good if you are having a regular job. While short time investment is good for a full time trader were for all time monitor price trending and you can react instantly when to buy and sell.but of course in limited return only short time.
