For a newcomer I'd suggest btc. It is a bit more simple.

All the same, I will offer you to buy bitcoin because this is a pretty good idea. Soon he clearly will grow and you will be in a huge plus. So don't worry about him.

Both. The best way to diversify you portfolio is as follows : 50-60% biggest coins by market cap (Bitcoin, Ethereum) , 30-40% altcoins with big potential (in your opinion of course) and 10% ICOs. This way you minimize your lose chance and You maximize your profit potential. You should ALWAYS have stable coins with less risk and coins in which you see big potential for growth. That way even if they don't meet you expectations for one reason or another, you will always have something left and won't bust. As people say "Don't put all your eggs in one basket".

If you want to make a high profit then you should invest in ICO positively. The ICO will also risk higher than the TOP coin

Right. But it seems to me that the guy does not have any experience. it means that he will 99% make a mistake when choosing an ICO. That is why for him, it is much better to buy Bitcoins and some altcoins.

I would always go for ICO, but a carefully selected one. I dont really see the fanasy and the huge future in BTC.
A good ico yields much higher incomes, and for me, it is more interesting to invest into it.
But it has its the downsides aswell, as you cant move your money for a while, the softcap may not be reached etc.

Bitcoin is safer than ico. But with the right choice of ico, you can easily increase profits, according to this I would recommend joining the project Tradelize. An ecosystem where ProTraders gain a unique trading toolset and investors achieve investment results equal to those of the best ProTraders.

investing in ico and buying btc at this time is equally good because now it can give profit. but for investment in ico now need a more selective choice because the risk of investment in ico is very big, so I think for beginners buy btc can be made as one of choice.

I believe that it is better to invest your money in bitcoin. After all, it is quite a profitable option. Bitcoin is quite expensive and pleasant for investment in this field of activity. But of course you decide.

Right now is not the best time to invest in ICO, in my opinion. The low level market is pushing back a lot of investors and the ICO doesn't raise a lot of money, than they are vanishing if the capital is not enough.

If you are new to this market then I recommend you study the market, learn market analysis skills. Next, if you invest in ICOs then you should choose ICOs that have good growth potential, because there are so many ICOs now, some ICOs are scam so if you do not have knowledge you will lose everything. You better invest in Bitcoin, Bitcoin is very popular, it has great potential, many experts say that its price will go to the moon in the future. In addition, you can buy more potential altcoin such as Ethereum, Litecoin or Cardano.

You can invest in ICO's but you need to know better the project or one ICO before you invest because it's risky and you don't have any assurance yet because it's not listed so be careful to find a good ICO to invest.

It seems to me that we must use both instruments. Part of the capital needs to be invested in Bitcoin and other reliable coins, and the second part of the capital needs to be invested in the ICO.

If you are a newbie I'd recommend investing in Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin is the king of the market, it is popular all over the world. Most big investors hold Bitcoin. Experts also predict that in the next few years Bitcoin will grow strongly and bring a lot of profits to investors. Beside that you can also invest in some potential altcoin like NEO, Monero, Cardano, Litecoin and especially Ethereum. I do not encourage you to invest in ICO. Because investing in ICOs requires you to have good knowledge of crypto. The risk of investing in ICOs is also higher.

Invest on them both is the best idea one could ever have. It's like you're having a diverse investment which gives you a very big chance of earning good profit if they both rise together and if the other fluctuates, there is still a chance that the other will remain stable or even keep on rising.

ICO space is very dangerous right now. Best projects are sold out in presale, only do airdrop, have small allocation only or are with lottery. The amount of money that these projects raise is also extremely high imo. There is still space to flip though, even when the market is going sideways, so I would say focus on ICO's

If you can invest to both then better to split your capital and invest in both but if you really like to choose only one then everything will depend upon how huge is your capital is. If you have big investment then choose Bitcoin but If you have just few amount then better to invest in ICO in which it has bonus coin during sale at very affordable price but choose and research well the project before investing to ensure that it was not a scam and has a potential of earning huge.

ICO investment is not for newcomers. It is for those who have already developed a certain pulse in going through a lot of choices in the ICO market. It is for those who have already developed a set of effective strategies in screening the legit ICOs from the shallow ones that are only after the money of unknowing individuals. Just study the ICO market first while investing and waiting for the price of Bitcoin to recover.
