The infamous Victoria Chertina, who has already conquered all of Europe, gave an exclusive interview to the French magazine:
You are passionate about fashion and sewing, how did this passion come about?
I started sewing at the age of 17. I myself learned from the magazine Burda Moda. And since then I have not changed my passion. Then it grew into my work and takes all my time.
What was your background?
I studied with the Russian fashion master Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Zaitsev in 2000 at his Fashion Laboratory. Today it is one of the best fashion education in the world.
What do you like most about your job?
Most of all I like to combine incongruous and destroy stereotypes. I really like to experiment and combine fabrics with different textures and styles. this is my thing. I like to surprise and shock people.
What inspires you, makes you want to create?
Do your Russian roots influence your creations?
Russian culture greatly influenced my work because my first education as a folklorist. I sing Russian folk songs very well and play seven musical instruments. I like to add a touch of Russianness to the images that I come up with.
What is the most extravagant garment you have ever created?
There were many extravagant objects. This is a skirt with LEDs and a chain mail dress made of metal, and even life-size puppets.
You participated in Luxembourg Fashion Week, how did it go? the parade of your collections? Have you had any feedback, from the public, other designers, etc....
The ancient Chateu de Septfonteins welcomed me with my provocative collection during Luxembourg Fashion Week. And I am very grateful for such a warm welcome. “SHYNESS IS GONE” is collection that was very radical.
During the show guests had an opportunity to enter the world of Pleasure, Love and Passion with the latest technologies of Augmented Reality platform ARROUND. And it was the key WOW - moment of my show - a work of fast growing ARROUND App, international AR Startup: tropical paradise blossomed in the ancient Luxembourg castle: fruits, flowers, erotic «SystemJO» lubricants were hovering near models – all of that made guests immerse into the atmosphere of passion and pleasure, they needed just their phones and downloaded ARROUND app for seeing such a miracle. Fashion will never be the same with Augmented Reality. This show was a fashion sex-manifesto: rabbits in leather handcuffs, fur swimsuits, transparent jackets and coats, different «LELO» clitoral toys in transparent pockets and Augmented Reality integration.
What projects are you working on at the moment?
At the moment, I have 2 weeks of fashion in Moscow. One show will be held on October 25 as part of Moscow Fashion Week. Together with the app ARROUND we are preparing a show with augmented reality . I am the first designer to do this in Russia.
