$5k seems high. Not saying it's not possible because anything can happen in crypto. But we're in a bear market and this could last all year and into next year or this bear market ends next month and we go on a massive bull run. I think eth could be worth around $2,500 at the end of this year.

The price of ethereum will rise up this year. But the price of 5000$ before the 2018 end i don't think it will be coming true. Yeah the 5,000$ is good to us if it will happen but even if there are many ICOs project that enter i don't think the ethereum will be in this price because we know the price now is less than 1,000$

Let see when market will recover at least will vallue same as last years ATH before says it will be on the new ATH level. I wanted it to, everyone want to it but honestly on $1500 or even $1000 price level it is hard to reach ATM.

It's possible if ETH will go up to $5000 but not in this year I think. It's just my prediction and I don't know it will happen or not. But, for this year possible if ETH will go up in $1000 - $2000 and not more I think.

Its possible eth will be bullish this year but its not realistic to achieve 5,000usd this year matbe 2000-3000 level and if the market back to uptrend might possible 5000. Look lots of ico that are erc20 supported. Ethereum is going to transition to PoS very slowly and carefully, it will not happen suddenly with one update. PoS means that people with skin in the game (owners of the currency/asset) are the ones who secure the network, and this is something that will ensure the long term health of Ethereum, since decisions are made by people who will be directly affected by those decisions.

PoW on the other hand is so predisposed to centralization due to legacy economic conditions (cost of electricity), the only reason BTC, BCH, and LTC are not fully compromised by 51% attacks right now is because of a gentleman's agreement between the huge mining farms. Are you willing to bet your future on a gentleman's agreement? Are you willing to bet that the Chinese government will not try to pressure these mining farms in the future to do this or that? This is not even mentioning the end game of PoW once the max supply is hit, algorithm difficulty is high, and miners need to cover their costs through higher fees.

PoW has acted as an instrument of channeling money away from westerners and towards the Chinese. So our universities and companies produce the brainpower, our society pays the cost of R&D, and in the end our inventions from that R&D serve as a funnel to take money away from us and put it in other people's pockets. correct , maximum price of ethereum in 2018 is between 2K - 3K, it's can't overtake bitcoin become top 1 coin, but whole crypto marketcap must be reach 1000B in this year, just wait for next uptrend coming ...

Why not, ETH is second bitcoin. It has good market cap. So end of year 2018 ethereum will be $5000 USD.
