WORD OF ADVICE to BTCZ devs - don't wait to to make the change to ZHASH after ASICS drive up the difficulty or it will be an ugly transition. Just went through a week of hell with ETN making the algo change back to GPU and its still not quite right yet.... and has been very costly for the devs team to implement now.

The fork is already locked in. It's 1 week away.

Hey I downloaded the CPU miner and I get 0 sols/s is that normal because the new chain is not up and running yet?

I guess it is because the new chain with ZHash algo will start from 160 000 block height, it will run in parallel with the old Equihash until block 160 010, and from that only the ZHash based will be accepted.

Did you try the ZHasher on test net? Instructions and syntax examples at middle of page https://github.com/btcz/zhasher/releases

--------------------------
BitcoinZ: Current block height 156 928: https://explorer.btcz.rocks/block/000000023f7d7a588abb3fe5db9bccd6eb16d62a852c68bea841e3bdfcd7a907

No. I just wait till its on. Thinking about mining some komodo in the side so if the zcash miner consults the legal team (and starts doing nothing.) it can mine komodo. Hopefully using those unspent resources. Two miners running on the same GPU.

Throw some "shit" and see what sticks.

Is there an AMD miner for ZHash ?

Only Nvidia?

Currently it is available only for CPU & Nvidia GPU: https://github.com/btcz/zhasher/releases

AMD miner needs more time, we are still searching for a developer to build it for us.

Just ask Claymore to build lol he probably already is working on something if he has the code...

Question, I've been using MyBitcoinZ wallet all along. Is it best to move all my coins out of that wallet to an exchange, like stocks exchange etc., before the fork?

I don't see a new wallet release yet for MybitconZ type.

Also, somewhere I saw some addnodes for the new 1.2.1 wallet release. I'm updating it now but with 2 connections  Grin

Exit Scam Alert - OctaEx Exchange

We're hearing that OctaEx is an exit scam.  We've removed them from our ANN and FAQ out of pre-caution.  Please be careful.

Can you start mining now with the new Zhash miner or should we wait until block 160.000?

Are all pools supported from the go or we have to wait on them to update? Or maybe they don't need to do anything?

I sent a PM to Claymore, let him know we need a new AMD miner for ZHash. I have to assume however that he is already aware  Cool

Not sure if anyone reached out to Claymore for an AMD miner yet so...... doesn't hurt to ask.

I would be willing to pay a fair dev fee, or even a little extra for the first 90 days if he could produce a working AMD miner in a timely fashion  Grin

The new BitcoinZ Swing Wallet works perfectly on Windows!
It is available here: https://github.com/btcz/bitcoinz-wallet/releases/tag/v1.2.1
See the instructions and run the reindex.bat, wait until its finished (takes some time but is normal).

I've added the equihash 144,5 (zhash) port to suprnova as well, it will be 6586 for GPU and 6587 for CPU after block 160,000. The old ports will then be shut

Direct donation would really help for the BitcoinZ community.
Would be appreciated not to exclude this possibility.
