Yup it is blood bath again on our portfolios because of the negative news about bitcoin thus pulling back bitcoins price down to around $8k currently. So most of the altcoins follow where bitcoin is going but once it gets steady around a certain price, these altcoins will soon try to recover back again in no time. We will just have to wait and see in the next few days or weeks.

and as for bitcoin drop the good news is that it is flushing all the newbie weak hands out of the market. so for example idiots who read comment above that is saying $1000 and sell is a good news for all of us because less idiots means the next rally will be much stronger without any idiot left to panic sell

As you may know there is public secret that institutional money are waiting to enter the market, however, regulatory environment is not ready yet. Steps are done to fix this and smart ones are accumulating BTC and stronger altcoins at these discount prices. I may be wrong and I think that I'm wrong in my trading decisions until they prove me correct but I expect further drop in BTC prices.

My portfolio ath, lost around 60% already, but overall I'm still up by 200%.

You are very lucky. My total minus is about 50%, but I'll keep the altcoins for several years in any case.

Yeah after the dumping rumoured which recently occurs, all becoming panic because the market switching so fast from bullish to bearish, that's really a significant change within short amount of time.
But however, some says that it'll recover back when all is fine within few days ahead, let us see. But kinda impressed how a dumping by whale could affect this much if the rumour is true.

I noticed since the beginning of the week that i have lost in one of my portfolio -17% of my asset and the other wallet is losing -12%.What is the issue that all altcoin is sharply moving southwards. Bitcoin experience quite a heavy drop earlier today so it's normal for alts to be dragged down by Bitcoin. There were some bad news popping up this week. First, Binance hacking. Second, rumors of Mt.Gox Trustees selling Bitcoin in massive amount. As a cryptocurrency hodler, you will experience a lot of bloodbath moment like this so better get yourself used to it Chill mate.

This is probably due to some alarming news, many of which are FUDs while some may be true. All these may have caused digital asset holders to panic and sell their holdings. So this is now the scene of the crime - all red.
Hackers according to many may potentially contribute to this event.

This is normal because the market reacts extremely to fud or good news, crypto is very volatile because a lot of people blindly invest or panick sells in every update they read. Just relax and hodl hopefully it will go up before you will need the money for something else.

This is something to be expected because of the recently issue with the Mt Gox hacks. A very huge amount of bitcoin has been released to the market which cause breakdown of the prices. It might take some time to recover and expect that bitcoin will crash more for the next few days.

It may be somehow connected with IWD:) people were selling crypto for presents and this is why prises fell down. i am sure that that situation is going to recover in a week or so.

It's indeed a good time to buy and for others to hodl, but was there any piece of news that affected the drop?

that that is strong many negative outlooks. and I all the same think that all this nonsense. and in the nearest future everything will go for improvements. just at someone nerves absolutely weak here also panic, and I just wait for take-off.

Honestly speaking I don't react when market is dropping. I know its a part of market. Market never moves in the same direction even my portfolio value also reduced almost 15-20% but it doesn't matter to me because I am positive sooner or later I know I will be in profit again so there is no point to worry. I always think long term. I did not heard any bad/negative news regarding crypto currencies. Those who are panicking now selling their coins but I don't sell on loss. I always keep patience and that is the key of success. Even it's a good opportunity to buy more coins.

Guys, you bother over nothing. Never make a conclusion, just in a week after your investment. Now the bear market, all the coins have lost ground  (both altcoins and bitcoins). If you want to have large profits within a few days, then it's better to invest in investment pyramids.
