I think you are wrong pick coin/token. If you are pick ethereum or ltc maybe you are rich now. I am believe that holding coin need research and not random coin/token because different coin/token different project and purpose

Holding is bad idea because fluctuacion of cryptocurrency so high, and from high fluctuaction actually we have opportunity to make more profit, so for the better change your idea from hodling to swing trading.

HODL - is the norm for the investor. It's much better than if you started selling and buying, and as a result you would not get anything. Patience will be rewarded.

I hold 3 coins espers-(3 years),insane-(2 years),html - (5 years) Shocked and price is the same....no moon ....I dont trust to holding anymore,any suggestions?
LoL i read the topic and enter on this thread and caugth myself laughing on this. Investing on crypto is not like you buy any coins today and comeback in few years and you are rich. There are so many factors asside from that. You need to research for what coins you are going to put your money in. It's not like you will going to buy a random coins. Do some research read their whitepaper know their team know their projects know how many coins in supply etc. If you are lucky, you can be rich in just a month. Just read more and research.

Holding is hardly best, but it is often preferred over attempting to call tops and bottoms of the market. Ultimately, many of these coins may not recover, while others will happily go on to find new ATHs. While you could accumulate more by selling tops and buying dips, there is *some* merit to a "set and forget" approach if you are able to not worry about the interim dips.

With those coins, I would not really expect any of them to moon. And also, it's  really bad holding it for years and never sell any portion of it when it pumps. You should also sell because cryptos are always volatile.

You are holding crap shit coins and you doesn't realise it. Learn more about ICO, read their whitepaper and roadmap, if they have working product or in progress then the coins would have a chance to grow up. If don't forget about thet coin.

I have conservative way of thinking therefore I prefer to invest and hold currencies for a long time. This is my way to make money. I think it works. On my mind the falling prices that we see now is a temporary thing.

Bullshit indeed when you are holding non- long term coins, that is also stupidity if you really did hold your coins for years without knowing it wont have any value because these are pure shitcoins from the start, doesnt even make sense why you did hold these shitcoins it makes me think if you are joking or not.

you could have save time if you hold solid long term coins.

By itself, the hold strategy is not bad, but it is necessary to choose crypto-currencies that will grow, not any at random

Holding it is a way to be wealthy but you need to be cleaver and got good coins, not this shit. Strat, Neo ever BTC last 2017 year got very big gain so many people now are billionaires and live now don't worry about nothing. Buy at least top 10 now and you will get profit soon I promise you, not this shitcoins.

it depends on which altcoins you have been holding for long term. if you try to hold a crap or shit coin ofcourse you will loose money. if you hold a pump/dump coin ofcourse you will loose your money. for long term the project should be really very good and team must be trustable.

Well, holding solid projects (which requires research) might be a good strategy. You have to give some of these projects so time to develop right? If you invest in a project that has a roadmap that shows the first significant achievements in a years time, why would you sell within a month?

You holded bad coins, when you have etherum, or bitcoin, you will be millionaire now. But I am really afraid of todays market, I am holding altcoins and bitcoin half year, and if I calculate it I am loosing money.
Guys, where we can see stop of crypto down trend? I am the one, who wont sell for this price but when we see 6000$, we will see panic sell and that will be so bad, how long does it take to take back and see again all time high?

Hodling doesn't means you pick a shit coin and expect to get a return after hodling the coin for some time. Hodling term is applied to coins with strong fundamentals who have good dev teams developing for it and the future of the coin looks good and the coin has a real world use case.

Holding is not always bullshit. If you have an eye for a potentially successful coin, holding can be great. Sometimes you may be unlucky though. I don't usually hold coins which do not have any value at all from the staring.

Those that you hold as far as I know was a kind of shitty coins, sorry no offense. You just chose the wrong coins to hold in a long term dude. But if you hold Eth, Xem or Waves for sure you obtain profit anyhow. But still not too late to hold again of some of the coins here, try to hold Trx, dent, Tky, utk and waves also bitcoin of course.

Hodling is best strategy if you got strong investments, if you got shit you can wait forever and receive only minus and lose money.

Holding the strategy for the patient. As practice shows, belief in a coin and the development of a crypto market as a whole can make you indecently rich in a couple of years.
