Luck of the draw you just happen to have bad coins that you held onto if everything was a guarantee then everyone would be rich. That's the risk you take in this market sometimes even the best research and intuition can fail people it just is what it is. But don't let that discourage you just have to keep doing research on projects until you feel more comfortable again then try some more coins.

Holding is not bullshit, your coins are. Those coins have very low potential so why do you keep holding them? Really? 2-5 years? You endured that? If you feel you don't have a profit after month, why don't you try to buy a new coin?

Couple of suggestions for you

1) Don't blindly hodl. No coin is worth "hodling" for a couple of years
2) Don't get attached to a coin. It makes it harder to get rid of if we like it more
3) Do actively see what the market is doing. In the last couple of years you could have likely dropped your coin and picked it up cheaper
4) Do only listen to yourself. What others may tell you may or may not work but you would have to defer to them again when exiting, this is not something you want

Yes, hodling is bullshit. Way too much manipulation of the market. Pump and dump schemes will prevent any long-term gains.

Holding also known as hodling in cryptocurrencies is a great investment strategy that has paid off well for many people.  It really depends on what you are hodling.  Hodling a dead project will get you no where.  Hodling projects that are consistently getting developed is the way to go.

Selecting the coins for hodl is not a simple matter. You need serious analysis and constantly monitor the development of the coin and the market.
Just buy and wait that the day after tomorrow $ 10 will turn into a ferrari unknowingly.
Unfortunately.

Holding as good as it seems has it advantages and disadvantages. One should know when its the nest time to stop holding and sell. Over time some coins withheld will increase in value, which is good then for the holder but when its been held for a ling time and it does not increase in value, one may have to end up selling it

now guess what project will grow into something big and worthwhile is even more difficult, there are so many, on the other hand, many projects of the future have a chance to live, now they may not be in demand, but through 5 years, who knows.

..

Wowww you held for up to 5 years. You must be a real OG HOLDER. I don't think I can hold like this. I think the major problem is that you held the coins that are not strong. Many other solid coins would have done huge increase within this period.

Normally shitcoins is only good for short term, just like a pump and dump game and if you play it well you'll be profitable.
TRX is different, we are here to take over the internet and we are the first one that has a big supporters to become a decentralized internet, we are changing
the world so this kind of very aggressive vision makes me comfortable in holding.

It's time for the holder to be patient and be attentive. Personally, I use a new wave of growth only to increase the position, I carefully sell on local peaks, I use Fibo 0.78 for purchasing with the growth of the market as a whole. And so I'm more a holder than a trader)

Would be easy if you are a holder because you will not need to analyze everything actively.
Holding gives profit as well as long as you are holding the coin that has a good potential to grow in the future.
Even holding the top 20 coins and diversify your money through them gives you a good chance to end this year with a big profit.

holding coins is a good business strategy but then the coin you are holding unto matters, what the project is all about and if they are foloowing their step by step procedure according to their timeline or roadmap. thanks

Holding is not a bullshit and it is actually a wise way to earn money. It is one of the best ways to do when the price is continuously falling. Thus, long-termed investment is a great things to do in cryptocurrency world.

It is actually not a bad thing to hold. Maybe, the thing which happened to uou is just pure misfortune. Try to engage again on cryptoinvestment but this time, try to choose a crypto which has a huge potential just like Bitcoin and etherium to invest your money with. If it has already a large community of users, chances are high that it will be more expensive next year and that is where profit will be earned.

In order for the hodling not to be a BS, it is necessary to choose good coins. I think that this is any pair of coins from the top 10.  If you choose smaller coins, then you need to buy more than two or three coins. To get a diversified portfolio it will be necessary to buy 10-15 coins a minimum.

I think holding it is a good way to make a profit just because you mistakenly picked a coin for you to hold, so I think it's not the wrong way but the wrong coin, just imagine if you hold for 5 years is bitcoin of course the results will be different

Hi! I wouldn't say... Is the retention strategy good? A simple answer to this question is impossible, all depends on the situation and specific asset. On the one hand, be patient and wait for profit in the end, but if the trader, especially the test subject to emotions and sells the asset when it falls in price and then growth begins. This is one of the reasons for the complete discharge from ruin.

If you choose to hold for long term, you need to choose those who have been performing well and those
who have a lot of people who invested on it, like bitcoin and ETH.
I have been holding bitcoin for many years and I don't want to sell because of it's big potential.

I fully agree that the top 20 with a high degree of probability will make me a little happier this year. The main thing is not to be greedy and make informed decisions
