This question is really hard, because of we do not know the future of crypto. We may hold coins for kids and one day it can cost so much that it is going to be enough to become rich as for kids as for ourselves (parents). But what if all coins will turn to zero? The risk has place to be, especially if you are investing in bitcoin, but not just collecting it through some work. I would better collect Euro for my kids, but not cryptos; to me it is more sure.

God I love the onions on you and I am in a very similar boat as you. Didn't put everything I had inside, but damn it quite nearly everything. I will save whatever is most valuable for my children because we know that no currency will last forever. That is why we must stay vigilant and pounce on any opportunity that comes our way. If something comes after Bitcoin, don't just dismiss it outright the very least you can do is look into the incoming techology. I know I would have done myself a huge favor if I did the same with Bitcoin, now I won't dismiss new tech ever again in my life.

I think that's quite a conservative, but yet potentially booming portfolio that should be doing well in the very long term. I definitely expect gold and silver to keep increasing, and real estate might as well slowly.

This ratio might be a good guide, though I have my reservations. I would say probably in the future, gold and silver will be forgotten as humans will move on to better things than these but it might not be in the near future.

Fiat is not a good way to save for the future as its value decreases over time due to inflation.

Real estate though is something else. Everybody will still need real estate for a long time, even far longer than when gold and silver is forgotten. This might be the best in my opinion, although it would depend on where it is located. It is still susceptible to losing its value probably due to war, government problems, and some other problems that would cause its value to drop because of the problem.

I would skip fiat completely. It's not an investment! If you ever need fiat for something important like getting sick, helping a friend or a family member, you can always sell part of your investment for fiat. That 20% in a couple years will be worth much less due to inflation, while it could be working for you in any of the investments mentioned above.

Great to hear that. I'm also not 100% in. I didn't sell my house to invest in BTC, so in a way I still have real estate. I only spent all my fiat because I know that it will only be worth less as time goes by. I prefer to bet on cryptos than play the losing game for another 10 years or more.

Real estate is also a bit speculative on the short term, but on a really long term it's quite profitable. The key is something like to balance your portfolio based on your freetime as well. You have to spend time to maintain your portfolio, real estates takes a lot of time if you have a lot of real estates, while gold and silver and the other dematerialized things like stocks and bitcoin are relatively easy to handle (you only need a PC). If you buy too much real estate, you have to hire someone to look after them if you have other full time job. So it depends also on your circumstances, which portfolio is the best...

For me its real estate. Even it bitcoin can provide the highest rate of return, still it has no assurance of success an that it will appreciate even better in the coming years. I will still invest in bitcoin but not to put even for my children's future.

Never put safe, and bitcoin in the same sentence. Yes, it has the potential huge gains, but over the long term we just don't know. Obviously it is a horrendous choice for long term savings. Stick with property, particularly in a well sought after area, as you'll be guaranteed at least 5% rental yield forever. I'm not saying don't invest in Bitcoin, you probably should. Invest on everything you mentioned. The chances of the 3 investment going down in unlikely. So at least you have Plan A,B and C in place as well. To be honest, I have invested first on Real State, and then I have my stocks and now with crypto's. Real state for me is the safest of the three as the price continue to increase every year.

Stocks and crypto are very volatile and you need to be very careful and try to mitigate your risk.

And the house that I bought years ago can also be given to my children as inheritance. So I say that go get apartments or condo units and invest on them early.

Tough question, as an investor I would suggest everybody: DON'T put all Your eggs in one basket, let it be RE, Stocks, Commodities, Cash or Bitcoin (or cryptos in general).

Cash is by far the worst ''INVESTMENT'' You could make for the future, every year it depreciates due to inflation( so You're constantly losing money, in the form of its value).
My advice is: Balance everything in a manner You're comfortable with, (at some point You will lose money somewhere) risk what You can afford to lose.

Saving for me is everlasting weapon. Whether it is a real cash or a crypto,I must save for the future's sake,for my future children's sake. I decided to sell my Bitcoin Cash and buy Bitcoin and some other altcoins for it. The most safest option would be to hold both coins but I didn't really think if there is any chance for Bitcoin Cash to become as big as Bitcoin. Bitcoin transaction fees are as low as for Bitcoin Cash. There is no real reason to use it. Supporters of Bitcoin Cash have only one vision of their coin - increase the blocksize everytime transactions take too long to confirm. Bitcoin has implemented SegWit which is slowly getting more popular and Lightning Network which is a good solution for microtransactions.

I think I will do investment in bitcoin because I can invest in any amount and I can add more bitcoin in every time I want. but if somehow I can have a big profit, then I will do real estate investment because I see from time to time, this type of investment is increasing too and if I can hold for at least a year, I am sure I can double my money. but I don't want to buy stocks because this is too risky and dangerous for me and it is better to have an investment in bitcoin for me.

Diversification is what keeps a man secured! You need to have fingers in many things, like that you are protecting yourself if any of investments went wrong cause any reason. If you want to leave something for your kids, you can try all of those options but for me, the best thing that you can leave with your kids is the knowledge. Real estate is the most safest. If I were to leave my children with a property, it will be a house so that they can use it for the future. Saving is a good action taken towards children first of all. Well, for me it's both, in favor of cryptocurrency and real estate, with an addition of none other than money. Personally, here are some of my thoughts about each aspect when it comes to saving for the future:

• Bitcoin - Many people consider bitcoin as the bread-and-butter of investing as its volatility makes it a perfect candidate for short/long-term investments. But due to some country prohibitions and world-wide law implementations, no one really knows what will happen to bitcoin. Not to mention, the lack of collateral and security makes this investment mechanism riskier compared to others but the returns are the largest compared to all.
• Stocks - Stocks are essentially for long-term perspective wherein people may gain large amounts of profits given the right circumstances. There are a lot of factors that you need to consider, like choosing the RIGHT company to buy shares with, being patient when you see the prices decrease, etc. but stocks are regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission wherein you have collateral and security over your investments.
• Real Estate - The value of land increases overtime and this is the only the tangible investment compared to the others. The only hindrance about real estate mainly revolves around its depreciation value (if buildings, condominiums, houses).

Personally, you would want to diversify your investments by at least having a share of investment on each mechanism in order to fully maximise your profits. Focusing into one type of investment mechanism would only increase the risks of losing all in one-go.

I think keeping cash is not a great idea. Inflation is going to make the value of those go down through time. Potetially having a diversified portfolio is a good idea but if you want something more liquid then potentially a trust fund would be better. If I were to choose between saving bitcoin or cash, I'd pick cash. Practically speaking, you can be sure with paper money. I want to earn first from bitcoin and then buy some property for my family so that will be able to have their own house in the future and the best thing is to start some regular business, so that children will be financially safe.

Well said, the future is unpredictable. What happens tomorrow is still a myth, the trust one has over it drives forward overcoming the risk. I don't know if it is safe to call if one would do that, splitting his money between bitcoin and cash, but for me it is. Both investments possess risk and I know that bitcoin is more riskier but can be more profitable. I think many people have done it already but since bitcoin is still on dump, they can't say that they have already earned a profit. When it comes to saving, there are many methods but investments are much preferable because of the profit gained over a long time.

As of now, we have investments by cash/real estates and bitcoin to choose from but if you have the money then investments through cash and bitcoin can be done so you can gain both the benefits and advantage that both methods can give.

I think it is not hard to answer. in my opinion, we can save bitcoin and cash at the same times and we can do this every time. It is a difficult choice the only thing I can say to you is to not save money on cash, keep some in reserve in case you need it but that is it, I prefer to save in bitcoin because I know that it is going to grow in value in the next years and decades but if you are not so certain then it is a good idea to try to invest in real estate instead but that is difficult since real estate is so expensive.

Bitcoin savings can do a great profit instead of saving cash for your childrens. The cash being stored at you bank savings was only having smaller inflation rates, then everything turns out worthless. But with digital currency, although its volatile in the marketplace it do give us much higher chances to enjoy it potential growth to double your money no or even tripled. so far, many governments are not prohibited about bitcoin, and I think we can still use bitcoin for making money. and I will again save bitcoin and cash because I use bitcoin for my investment that I can sell it anytime, and money is for my living so I can buy something in my real life. without cash, I cannot buy something, and without bitcoin, I don't have any investment in my future. so both bitcoin and money are essential for me now, and I want to collect as much bitcoin and cash for my future.
