Thanks guys.  I have switched to http://www.coinmine.pl/un/index.php

It seems that the difficulty swings wildly throughout a day.  It seems logical to switch to an alternative altcoin when difficulty gets too high and back again when it's lower.

Is this something you guys have considered?  If so, is there a pattern to the fluctuating difficulty?

This is exactly why the difficulty swings so much, when the difficulty gets high every one jumps off so then it drops low again.  If you try to switch back to it when difficulty is low, so is everyone else and then it jumps back up again.  So you really end up only mining the increasing difficulty parts.

Hey there.
Make sure you create .conf file as described in the beginning of the topic. Double check .conf file name, it must be unobtanium.conf, NOT unobtaInium.conf, there is a typo at topic starter's post. It should work fine after you create this file.

I don't follow on the .conf file. Are there some variables in the file that you have to customize to yourself? If so, what do we do? Thanks in advance for any help!

You need to complete 2 steps.
Step 1. Download unobtanium wallet.

Step 2. Create unobtanium.conf file and put it in the the same folder where wallet is installed. Double check file name.
Conf file should contain this:

rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=x
rpcport=65535
port=65534
server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
rpcallow=*
addnode=71.7.130.11
addnode=69.85.86.195

Hi,

Thanks for the info. Still can't get it to work. Here is my unobtainium.conf file:

rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=x
rpcport=65535
port=65534
server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
rpcallow=*
addnode=71.7.130.11
addnode=69.85.86.195

When I go into the log file, here is a repeating error:

connection timeout
trying connection 69.85.86.195:65534 lastseen=100.2hrs

Any further suggestions?

Try to add this line to your config file

addnode=p2pool.org:65534

Hope it will solve the problem.

I had the same problem, worked for me too. Thank you so much, there is too little a number of this coin to let them get lost! 30 hours of mining saved by you. Thanks again and also thaks to the question raiser. Is there another fountain that i can donate to? The one linked on the Uno site hasn't got an adress anymore. Else i will just give away fractions of .01 away by vouchers to spread it. Happy mining
