The price on cryptsy is still low.  Most significant players are staying as quiet as possible, so they can collect as much as they can before the price really takes off.  Also the reason a lot of noobs don't get the attention they want on here.  It's open source, but these folks do not have to give up their proprietary trade secrets.  The coin isn't secret at all, though.  Cryptsy price is CHEAP.  One of the developers laughed off a projection for this coin earlier in the thread.  [wink, wink]

This coin can really go past parity with BTC, especially as BTC's been compromised to some significant degree.  This coin is a great financial utility!  It's rare.  It's all open for you to read the code and participate as you may.

I'm trying to mine it and get stale's for every pool I try for Unobtanium.. All my other crypto's work fine.. What up with that ?

I've just tried cpuminer and it also does the same trying on a different pc.

1)  The creator was offering to buy mined stock before it was available at exchange w/ "real" crypto; LTC: he stands behind his product.   This isn't his first crypto, he knows what he's doing.

2) The price then paid is less than 1/3 of what its trading for now.

3) When anything hits cryptsy... the first test is "the number of zero's" test.   If the IPO price was "about right" then there won't be a quick jump or quick rise.... but consolidation... which we saw.

4) Following that consolidation we saw a bull indicator yesterday 12/22/13 volume spike at noon cryptsy time.  At this point, as a day trader, I became interested. 

5) This indicator then formed a small bull parabolic movement to the .015 level.   Market says, this crypto is undervalued.  3X?  Hmmm.  Refer back to #3... could be 30X. 

6) when you compare this to Bitbar IPO @ cryptsy for example, you see bitbar had to "bottom out" before it found its price.  Bitbar went down at first.   Its IPO was overpriced 10x.  UNO seems to be tending towards "top out" first.   I like to buy IPO's that look like a deer head mounted on the wall... w/ 1st days of UNO, we see a wall mount in the first hour, a neck trending upward to a price breakout "head" with antlers by day 4. 

7) No premine BS. nice diff curve, good mojo in this thread.  only 250k coins.

Hi, I'm new to UNO. I like the concept of it being pretty rare. But I beg to ask, when all these coins are mined, then the network will solely exist on transaction fees, correct? Are people pretty confident that it will be secure enough at that point? I realize Bitcoin is in a similar boat (will only survive on tx. fees), but at least it has first mover advantage... Please help me overcome this.

http://un.ispace.co.uk is back up and running after we have migrated all of our pools to a new host. We now have spare capacity so things should run a lot smoother going forwards.

Fixed, you need to create a file where Unobtanium was installed, in my case, the file to create is C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Unobtanium\unobtanium.conf

People have been complaining for too long about the wallet not connecting.

"Fixed, you need to create a file where Unobtanium was installed...yadda yadda...."

That's NOT a fix. It's a temporary half-assed work around that too many people can't figure out for themselves.. We want people with money to invest in UNO.  Let them download a f*cking wallet that connects without problems. It's basic. Stupid problems like this say to newcomers that the coin is a loser, which it's not .

FIX IT, please. It will take very little time to update a text conf file in the installer.

Some of us have money riding on this coin, and we're sick of seeing all of the pleas for help to get the wallet working. FIX IT!! PLEASE!

+1 above comment. It's not ideal to enter in to a new currency and invest both time and money in order to actually get the most basic functionality out of an altcoin.

I think the coin is great, dont deter people from getting involved =)

Great name because I cannot get the client to connect either and I've been doing this since April with a dozen coins or more. Tried putting the conf file even in the same directory as the exe and nada. I guess everyone could have their computers off for Xmas or something.  lol

Note sure if I see correct - but in a pool I see that blocks from yesterday the block reward was 128 - and now the latest blocks show 0.5..
Has the reward dropped from 128 to 0.5 just like that..?
