24Kilo- Thanks for the support mate Smiley

Mark- Yes, I ran a successful business for over 20 years plus I helped my brother set up and run a business (on my coin).  It was tough at the start and yes my house was on the line more than once.  But I worked hard and eventually got to the stage that someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse.  Now I work for them. Saving a fortune on blood pressure tablets  Tongue

Move to Manilla? Didn't realise you were such a funny guy!  Mate, if you're sick of me, it's your nickel, I'll never darken your doorway again. I don't need the aggro. I only do this as a hobby.  Like 24Kilo said, I've been here since day one and was hoping everything would turn out a bit better. Reading back, yes, I've been a bit narky and I apologise.  But am I the only one? Is there a pattern?

Putting my remaining TAG on Cryptsy tonight for whatever scraps I can get.  Ciao.

EDIT: I notice that Mark just edited the post above mine some half hour later.  Yes, I did care about TAG, but not any more. Ciao again.

I'm no expert on anything, I'm just a trader and a miner. My only suggestions are to remove PoS and to include Coin Control. All other alt-coins have it, and now Bitcoin Core has it. That's just the technical part of the coin.

This is supposed to be a 4 minute block time coin. There aren't supposed to be any orphans anymore at it's current hashrate. Bitcoin is a 10 minute coin. It takes 2 seconds for a transaction to reach 90% of the network, and 20 seconds for a block to propagate, so 10 minutes is a lot of time for miners and pools to know if what is a good block or not.

So TAG is a little less than half the time of Bitcoin, but it's not as big. However it still should take only at most 5 seconds for transactions to reach 90% of the network, and at most 60 seconds for blocks to propagate.

I don't know how and I don't know why, and most people could care less exactly how or why (just the coders and geeks will want to figure it out), but you take out PoS, you'll only lose those who believe in "investing" 1.5% per year.

At any point in time, now, and even in the far future, one can purchase any miner or GPU and make more than that 1.5% in a month. So, I'm just speaking from "common sense" here.

If you make the PoS a higher number, then you'll attract the hoarders; those people don't really mine, they just buy, speculate, hold, and nothing moves.

I do believe you have already sort of worked out the issue, and tagmining is the official pool. As far as miners are concerned, they get what is due them. As far as the pool and op is concerned, you got his back.

So maybe the PoS issue isn't as much of an issue anymore, as long as miners mine on the official pool. Those who mine on other pools risk getting orphans or those who operate those other pools risk paying out for orphans.

As for the rest, well, I'll HODL what I have even though it's not much.

I guess the point of my post now is, coin control. Smiley

Mate, you are either doing this all wrong or hoping to flog it off as a going concern to some sucker.  Either way I'm only out a few hundred dollars, I'll chalk that up as a learning experience.

I 'm also out a couple of hundred dollars on the project and only came on board at the start because of the PoS aspect.  I'll let my TAG sit in their wallet (they've all been paid for, so I can wait).

Some sunshine on this cloudy day:

I LOVE TAG!!!

For those of you jumping ship; why? It makes ZERO sense. TAG has a developer that has stuck to the coin and has devoted his life to it (it seems). He has a TEAM/business behind it and is constantly adding things to it.

You all sit here and throw stones about this and that, the ONLY problem with this coin is the orphan issue that's caused by POS.

If you all take a step back and look at the project as a whole and compare it to ANY other coin, you'll realize this one is WAY different than any. I really believe the TAG can and will thrive in the future.

Hehe. I think he somehow answers in a wrong tab or something.  But, if you really want a response on that in English 136BTC; I like Russia too! Smiley

On topic; we really need to find a way to attract more people into Tag (or particular mining Tag so Tagmining.com)..

Mate, mining is in the dumps across the board with all the coins.  Things will pick up, though.

For those of you jumping ship; why? It makes ZERO sense. TAG has a developer that has stuck to the coin and has devoted his life to it (it seems). He has a TEAM/business behind it and is constantly adding things to it.

I think part of it is that this is a community of miners and, largely, they want to be paid for the electricity with which they mine, which won't happen right now.

That being said, I'm holding onto my small bag of tag hoping it will be worth more in the future. I do believe Mark has a longterm vision. We'll see how it goes in 2014.

I'm in the same situation. I won't sell the tags I have mined now. Unfortunately I only own 600 kh/s now.. Currently I'm not mining TAG but I will hop on soon again. Unfortunately for example Tagmining.com has this low hashrate now, it takes too long for me to earn some TAG (as I don't mine 24/7).

I suspect that the only ones making money from mining TAG at the current diff is anyone with gridseeds, and probably in China - mining with a GPU just won't pay for electricity at the moment. It's certainly cheaper for me to buy rather than mine right now, especially with power costs here around 35c per kWhr
