We had a seed node down earlier today. You should be okay now by restarting your client.

Is there a current list of nodes? The wallet doesn't want to find the network today...

Here's a list of nodes my daemon is connected to:

Code:
addnode=77.67.46.103:8121
addnode=80.86.85.65:8121
addnode=98.115.147.74:8121
addnode=95.46.99.96:8121
addnode=85.187.202.15:8121
addnode=78.66.83.88:8121
addnode=5.9.48.68:8121
addnode=173.254.231.193:8121
addnode=107.191.101.134:8121
addnode=104.172.24.79:8121
addnode=107.161.23.121:8121
addnode=149.202.121.129:8121

However, I'm having problems with the daemon temorarily locking up & I seem to be missing payments from my own p2pool node - I've observed other p2pool nodes having the same problem at exactly the same time also - not sure if it's related or weather it's a daemon problem or a p2pool problem but it seems very unstable.

Thanks for the info...

It's great seeing all the renewed activity here in the announcement thread.

We are also seeing increases on Skype and Facebook. In addition, I'm very pleased to announce that we've added a third senior-level developer to our core team. We're going to take this project up a notch in 2017!

Got it, thx. All is well, fully synced now...

Glad you're all synced up now!

We will continue monitoring this thread and providing breaking news and updates, along with the highest level of support possible.

Note: https://coinking.io/login.php?s=/coin/goldcoin

- coinking.io is mining on the wrong gld chain
- we e-mailed them and wrote in the IRC

randreo520 : I have sent thousands of GLD to my account over the last few days and none of them are reaching my account   //   1 day ago

can you see your name in the pic, thats Y, sry 4 U.

- this goes out to "randreo" .

This is randreo here

What you seem to not understand, and coming from the "sysop" yea old school term.  I'm about to school you on what you don't understand.  If you were honest, you'd mention that know exactly what i'm talking about.  Here we go,  I'M TALKING ABOUT WITHDRAWALS MY FRIEND!  Not fucking blocks!!  Your an idiot, and I NEVER GOT MY FUCKING COINS! You simply kept them, because I am your largest producer period.

You fucked me out of about 30,000 CBX also, you fucking asshole.  Strong miners who know what the fuck they're doing make the good money.  Operators as ignorant and dishonest as this take our efforts for themselves.  Its well known and that its fact.  Its not my fault I knew a big shakedown was coming due to difficulty.  I know what the fuck I'm doing and your message is a testament to the fact you run an untrustworthy pool.  30,000 CBX, unbelievable my friend. I used your BTC converter to get BTC in exchange, I never got a god dam thing.  Your support - non-existent

The cryptsy days people, it wasn't the wild wild west.  Its was fucking mayhem and I'd live it again in a minute.  Just incredible times and I want to say I am glad I was alive and on it.  It will never happen again.  Never have I been so busy with a packed garage of equipment running over 180amps on 125amp system and she took it.  I'm a big producer, yes I was.  Didn't give a shit about the money, it was so much god dame fun it wasn't even fucking funny!

randreo -

WORD randreo  - now you know!

Food for thought:

"Gold Has No Intrinsic Value

Other than the value that humans ascribe to it, the shiny metal has no intrinsic value. Historically, gold has been used as a currency and a store of value because it does not corrode. But that was centuries ago. In the digital age, gold is no longer relevant as a monetary holder of value. Today wealth is stored as bits and bytes - when was the last time you had more than $1,000 cash in your pocket? It's all plastic and code and passwords. New currencies such as bitcoin are much more attuned to the needs of our digital age, and will eventually replace gold as a hedge against political and economic uncertainty." -SNIP-

It would appear a good time for crypto gold to fill the comming void. Here's the link to the rest of the article:

That's not the impression I got from git, one of your developers seems to be blaming everyone else actually:

Quote from: akumaburn
There's no reason for the RPC to freeze up that i can think of. Something must be wrong on your end.

I noticed C-cex have also taken the GLD wallet offline as well now....

On top of that, of the 50+ blocks found by p2pool so far today not a single one is valid - all rejected (not surprising considering the state of the sharechain).

There are very serious problems with the wallet & network, yet looking at the block explorer here:

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/gld/address.dws?E9B4Sin3GiKviKP9t6Hvs3jDyGFHSco1Br.htm

..it seems that every block is being paid in full to the same address  E9B4Sin3GiKviKP9t6Hvs3jDyGFHSco1Br - does anyone know who owns this address?

With miners not getting paid, exchanges unable to run the wallets & developers & pool node operators in denial - the future of this coin looks very bleak I'm afraid.

Akumaburn is looking into the possibility of rolling out a patch to improve mining efficiency and we are closely monitoring the network as always. He wrote a checkpointing patch on Monday and is testing it now.

However, let's not fud your issue into the fact C-CEX has several wallets in maintenance at the moment. There is no evidence to suggest that they're having problems with the Goldcoin client.

And this is not new code, the 51% defense system has been in operation for almost 4 years. The network hashrate is nearly 1 GH/s so someone is mining. The chain is moving and the network is strong.

This is experimental software and an open source community. That means we should all be working together to build and grow the currency.

This is supposed to be fun, no reason to be such a Debbie Downer. Cheer up!  Kiss Cheesy Cool

Thank you. The checkpointing patch is currently being tested and could become available as early as this weekend.

Edit: 02/02/17 - The patch seems to be working and should be rolled out within the next 24 hours. If there are any pool operators reading this, we are currently in need of a pool willing to help us test the latest code.

Our team will be running a few final tests throughout the evening but so far everything is looking good with the client patch.

The latest source code is now available on Github and the Windows binaries available below:

Bittrex and C-CEX have now updated their daemons and taken their wallets out of maintenance.

Pools are also reporting increased mining performance after upgrading to the improved client.

GLD added to hash-to-coins.com mining pool

Thanks! I'll work this week to get all the various pool links updated.
