The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

IXC

About:
Ixcoin is a fork of Bitcoin with twice the inflation rate of Bitcoin but with the same 21 million total limit.
Ixcoin is intended to closely mirror code updates to Bitcoin to allow for easy interoperability with Bitcoin-related third party services and APIs.

iXcoin (IXC) is the second oldest alt-coin, launched 10 days after Namecoin. iXcoin is a clone of Bitcoin, the only identical Bitcoin Twin in existence, fully matured and fully distributed, low cost P2p network to offer irreversible, low cost, highly scalable transactions. IXC an open source & decentralized digital currency,

How does Ixcoin differ from Bitcoin?

Ixcoin is merge mined with Bitcoin
http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/273/how-does-merged-mining-work

Shorter maturity period
All Ixcoins were been generated by  Oct 2014. Mining relies solely on transaction fees now. Ixcoin reached it's maturity  ~18 years before Bitcoin's.

New blockchain

Although Bitcoin's blockchain is in the same format as Ixcoin's, they use different genesis blocks and have a different reward scheme. So Bitcoins will not be valid in the Ixcoin blockchain and vice-versa.

Different default ports
Bitcoin's operating port 8332 is now 8337 with Ixcoin.
Bitcoin's RPC server port 8333 is now 8338 with Ixcoin.

New key format
Wallet public keys now start with the letter x instead of the number 1 for Bitcoins.
Bitcoin wallet key: 175tWpb8K1S7NmH4Zx6rewF9WQrcZv245W
Ixcoin wallet key : x75tWpb8K1S7NmH4Zx6rewF9WQrcZv245W

Spoetnik I saw your questions and I asked Satoshi but haven't had time to really write it up.

The only reasons I haven't commented of late is two-fold: been busy on the Qtum tread; can't think of anything funny to say to spice up this thread. Make that three-fold: been busy with my ICO.

"Sure, Bruno, we recognize a shameless plug when we see it, even with one of us now dead."

But if you really wanna hear something funny, this -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S50Xafvt4p8 (jump to the ~8:00 mark for the punchline, but worth listening to the entire bit).

I first heard this story when it first was broadcasted, remember how I laughed so hard I almost had to pull the car over because I had tears in my eyes and could no longer see the road. That, and I was loosing oxygen due to the laughter. I loved them guys.

Here comes the split!!!

Roger Ver's [I love that guy   Tongue] Bitcoin.com Bitcoin Unlimited mining pool just opened to the muppets, err, the public.

Lowest mining fees.  Plus you get 110%, Ver is paying an extra 10% bonus for mining on his pool.  Jihan already switched, most of the large Chinese miners will most likely follow.

The split should be hitting really really soon.  I do expect the sky to fall in Cryptoworld.

Community Announcement!

Cypherpunks [Blockstream/core] have attacked, hacked and robbed Satoshi.  And they are ruining his Bitcoin project.

Now, Satoshi Says:  "enough is enough!"

Satoshi is going to give Blockstream/Core one last chance, to repent, and then he will go on the offensive.

This is your FINAL warning!!!

Will he do the offensive during a TV interview in a studio or from the captain's cabin of some yacht with his fingers on the firing buttons?

Bahahaaaaa.  I'm not surprised.  For a long time I count use my US ATM cards in Romania cause the hacking was so bad.  15 year old hackers everywhere robbing the big banks for millions of dollars.  Most of those kids work for places like google now.

Note for newbie east bloc hackers:  If you're gonna be a hacker be a good one and maybe land a job in the US.

Back in the late 80's, soda pap vendors lost tons of money on their newly introduced dollar-bill-accepting machines. The cons quickly figured out that you could put tape at the end of the dollar acting as an extension, holding onto the tape when inserting the bill as far as you can sans letting go. When the bill acceptor registers the $1, pull the bill out, then push the cancel button and out pops four quarters (or a mix of other coins equaling a US dollar) into the change cup. This was back when one didn't have to worry 'bout overhead cameras.
