Martingale works in the beginning; I have used it quite some times on various times and always got away with it. Offcourse, it will go bad one day and that happened already to me 2 times so I quit doing it. I don't understand how can one say that Martingale works in the beginning and not after, it's purely based on luck. We can have a newbie with brand new account, deposits and loses all the money after 10 Martingale rolls and then we can also have a newbie who deposits and wins impressively. It's just pure luck.
The reason Martingale is so popular is that it's the most logical strategy that anyone can imagine. You lose, want to get your lose back with profits, just double the bet and you get your lost amount back and win one times more.

If you lose a bet and double your betting amount does it influence the next bet? It does not because the house edge remains same and it just a new bet every time, the seeds remain same.

It is easy to execute and thus popular and has become a stable first hand attempt at gambling by most newbies.

Martingale does not help a gambler win, it does not increase a gamblers chances of winning a game, if there is one thing I know martingale does, it helps empty your bankroll faster, this automatically disqualifies or disqualified Martingale from being a strategy, believe it or not, it's what I believe myself, and nothing can change that.

I guess it's easier and faster to say that, gambling is not a money making venture and no one should see it as this because it's the wrong perspective, this I believe could be the third or forth time I am talking about gambling not being a source of income today, but then, it's still a simple truth we can't stop preaching.

I feel what you wish to say about that "unhealthy obsession", but if you are in profit or if you didn't lose a lot of money playing I guess you can continue to have fun with collecting more GTs.
