I wouldn't be surprised if they did have a real problem with thousands or millions of bots milking the faucet.
they definitely did have a bots problem, but i don't think it was at that scale. even if it was, that's not an excuse, because they should have done something about it.
When the site deleted its meters displaying deposits and reserves in real time, a few years ago, that was a red flag that something was wrong.
there is no way they would have just watched their bitcoin reserves get drained by bots on a massive scale that would make them insolvent.
but again, the site was being run so incompetently that i wouldn't rule that out.
I'll never understand not just selling the site and shit canning the liabilities...
who is gonna buy a sinking ship from them? the name and domain has some value, but other than that, it would be a waste of money.
