Basically, because of the hype, only newcomers invest, who have not yet lost money in investments.  But when the first sad experience comes, then any investor begins to study the project more carefully, before investing in it.

It's getting ridiculous here. People are now investing just because of the hype or just from watching the scores given by Icobench, ICOratings etc.

You're doing it wrong. You should look at the team and the experience they have, whether this project exists already (e.g we have Monaco, TenX, Centra, MoxyOne and many others) and none of them actually delivered 100% what they promised etc. so unless you really see the potentials on the project, you really shouldn't invest. Ignore the moon bullshit they are trying to feed you.

This is valid for both bounty hunters (because they are wasting their time) and ICO participants (wasting money).

In my opinion rates are important to choose some projects to compare and then make some research on them, taking into consideration some important things like: whitepaper, team and etc. Scores are smth like filter among so many projects on the market. It is difficult to go through all of them, so we need to select based on something and scores are good tool. I am looking at IcoGuide scores, they seems to bee realistic.

I think if you want to invest in some ICO, you need to find that ICO and only spend the money that you can afford to lose. it is better if you can thinking that every investment has a risk so if somehow your investment not giving a profit, you don't have to be sad or regret your decision. but it still difficult to find the ICO because today, there are too many ICO in out there and not all of them can reach success.

Yeah, hype easily attract investor. I see some project that have a working product and their telegram group was below 5k. And then there are some project that obviously a scam but have a 20k members. Personally, I never evaluate a project for only 1 criterion, I always look at everything in the aggregate. Ratings and assessments of ICO are all you can if you want to buy. You did not know?

If you only rely on the rating in several sites, of course, they only see ICO from what is seen and not of what is inside. so no need to see the rating of ICO, it's just bullshit just to create ICO look has to value. in fact, many rating against an ICO sales good but could not even reach the stage of a minimum.

I completely agree with you here. ICObench and others are clearly paid to rate some ICOs higher than others. Not to mention they are giving 4-5 star ratings on MANY projects, but there's no way these are all great investments.
