I've been mining Raven for the past month but this week has been much less profitable.  I'm mining using Nevermore and am using Pickaxe Pro as the pool.  Did something happen to cause profits to drop 30% this week?

Concerning FPGA's Will it be ridiculously expensive to use?  I'm understanding that you need an ASIC for each algo (16 different ASICs) and then the FPGA to control them.  Only one ASIC would be used at a time wasting 15 other ASICs.

Hi all,

I have put my many hours of tweaking tested forked version of ccminer up here if anyone would like to use it, no dev fee just donate if you like it, all code is up, will be continuing to tweak and find any gains possible. Compiled on windows VS so windows binary is up in release folder, if someone wants to do linux feel free. I am doing starting Visual Profiler tool tweaking to see where more gains might be.

Profits as in coins per day or dollar per day? The price went down a bit with added difficulty or rather difficulty swings this could add up to 30% less dollar per day.

Hopefully nobody's stupid enough to try such thing. I don't even need to mention that using them separately would be more profitable and even if someone does it, devs will just make a modification on the algo and ruin his whole setup so It won't be an issue as far as I see.

Good idea it is worth to buy this coin while this is at early stages sometimes I mine this but most of the time I like to keep buying it is like to exchange this with other projects. This project will get real attention in future at the moment this is just moving with normal speed.

Here is some content I created to promote Ravencoin a bit...I compare a GTX 1060 and a GTX 1070 FE mining speeds...enjoy.

I'm getting over 5% higher hash rates, on 12 hour averages, with 1.10 than 1.09b. This is on 21X1070TI and 5X1070. Kind of wild, in a great way.
This is more than 33% better than 2.2.5. Which is insanely better. Yet 90% of the miners on Ravenmier are using something other than 1.10. And some 520+ miners are still on 2.2.5.
I just don't get it. Using 1.10 is like getting extra GPUs without buying them.

“How did you go bankrupt?” Bill asked.

“Two ways,” Mike said. “Gradually and then suddenly.”

A large portion of those miners are linux users ...

aaand that is what the issue is, when the miner itself does not work due to incompatible components on different distros of the miner compile, like we have.

Yes - I have notified the dev, and nothing being done about it due to the fact that it requires MANY different settings to cater to the many different distros. Also probably why there has been no response as well.

got same problem and it should be related to OC, so lower your OC and find the right settings for mining.

UPDATE: April 3rd new whitepaper released here: http://ravencoin.org/Ravencoin.pdf
     Roadmap link: https://github.com/RavenProject/Ravencoin/blob/master/roadmap/README.md

Overview:
Ravencoin was officially launched on January 3rd 2018 with the vision of becoming a community coin, meaning anyone is able to contribute and add to the project.  It is not owned by one individual or a team of developers. As such, while I am posting this announcement with updated information, I am not the founder nor a developer, just a volunteer that is looking to help inform the public.  This is a new open-source project that anyone can contribute towards with the goal of utilizing the blockchain to facilitate the transfer of assets.

Most people have a hard time conceptualizing what "assets" are so I'll do my best to try to give examples of assets: Assets can come in a variety of types, such as financial instruments such as security tokens/stocks/bonds/deeds/etc as well as gaming items (ex. a sword)/conventional asset management/managing  distributions for co-ops/digital art.  There are a lot of real-world applications that this blockchain is intended to disrupt and improve. Ravencoin is intended to be the rails to these assets and will power the transfer of assets through raven's decentralized trust-less network, which is why there was no premine/developer reward/etc and was launched fairly to instill trust in the network.

Development:
The core developers are currently focused on building the asset layer which will allow Ravencoin to facilitate the transfer of assets.  There is a hard-fork planned for the network to implement this additional asset layer in around October/November 2018 time frame.  This hard-fork will not create multiple coins as it will be an upgrade and the balance that you currently have will be transferred over to the new chain.  No additional coins will be given out from the fork.

The Ravencoin protocol will support RSK / solidity but ALSO have a native capability built in which makes it easier for many use cases. Additional capabilities will include messaging and dividends. More information to come soon on this matter. Ravencoin will eventually support new token launches and facilitate exchanging/transferring tokens, its unclear at this point what the primary use of those tokens will be, but it can be a wide array of purposes.

Core Developers (Discord Username): RavencoinDev, Tron, Chatturga
        Advisers: Bruce Fenton
        Contributing companies:  Overstock, Medici Ventures
        Controlling companies: None
Please consider donating to the community development fund: RBjAZ4fgoXfMC1ujzs7XKreMxJAL1r9fhT (Raven Address) thank you!

We'll update this thread with core developments as that information becomes available to us. Please join us in one of our discord channels for the latest news and updates.

RVNGaming Discord (Trivia Here)

Project Info:
Ravencoin was launched in the interest of fair distribution. Miners from all around the world have added to the network to create one of the strongest decentralized networks in existence.  There is no ICO, no pre-mine, no masternodes, or any other gimmicky feature, and you can mine RVN using AMD or NVIDIA GPUs. Raven is focused on maintaining a decentralized network and the core developers have expressed their intent to change the algorithm should an ASIC ever be launched on Raven's network.

3x MSI AMD RX580 Armor 8GB OC

GPU 0 is not performing. I don't understand, all 3 GPU connected to same PSU Coolermaster 850w Gold, total system only draws 462W from wall. Windows 10 64bit, latest AMD drivers Adrenalin Edition 18.4.1

after a restart the first 30 seconds all GPUs perform the same then GPU 0 slowly drops hashpower

Update: tried Avermore 1.4.0 miner, same problem

Update2: after complete restart of system, it gets even more weird:

GPU 0:  72.0C 1129RPM | 5.625M/5.666Mh/s | R:  0.0% HW:0 WU:8.768/m I:19
GPU 1:  74.0C 1511RPM | 5.636M/5.673Mh/s | R:  3.4% HW:0 WU:9.964/m I:19
GPU 2:  54.0C    0RPM | 2.711M/1.149Mh/s | R:  0.0% HW:0 WU:3.587/m I:19

GPU 2 is now dropping hashpower  Huh GPU 0 (and GPU 1) doing fine

Could it be something with Motherboard BIOS ? I used 3 1080TI GPUs in the past on the mobo wothout problems, maybe these "new" card give some trouble in combination with mobo? Asrock 970 extreme 4

got same problem and it should be related to OC, so lower your OC and find the right settings for mining.

I solved it, one pci-e was at x4 while the other two were at x8, switched from x4 pci-e to another x8 pci-e and everything is running fine now

Yes, Raven is a Bitcoin fork.  January 3rd of this year was the genesis block I think...it was somewhere around then.

I've been mining Raven for the past month but this week has been much less profitable.  I'm mining using Nevermore and am using Pickaxe Pro as the pool.  Did something happen to cause profits to drop 30% this week?
Profits as in coins per day or dollar per day? The price went down a bit with added difficulty or rather difficulty swings this could add up to 30% less dollar per day.

Yeah it does depend on how you measure 'profit'.

I find it interesting how many people say that mining x coin has been 'less profitable', even though they aren't selling anything they mine. I like to think of it more in terms of mining difficulty and coins received, and consider how I think the price per coin will look over the mid term.

Thanks for sharing. I'm not sure how this explains the fact that first GPU 0 had lower hashpower and later GPU 2 was dropping hashpower?
