Any news on when there will be an adjustment to the diff reset timing?

Bizarre swings the last days - but haven't switched between coins.

Taking into account these factors, analysts positively assess the possibility of long-term and short-term investments in the project.

My rough Calcs done at different times during the day so you get the gist.

I got some numbers wrong last time so feel free to update.

Current Supply
325926 x 5000 = 1,629,630,000
Block: Genesis 3rd Jan 2018 21:42:03
Block: 325926 6th Aug 2018 21:42:12

What Supply should be at if everything was perfect
Result: 215 days or 5160 hours or 309600 minutes
309600 x 5000 = 1548000000

Ahead or behind:
1,629,630,000 - 1,548,000,000 = 81,630,000 ahead

81,630,000 / 5000 = 16326mins or 272.1hours or 11.3days ahead of where we should be.

When is the next difficulty change:
If we use the current stats off RVNstats of 0.22 blocks a minute
4.45 minutes for a full block
623 blocks to go
2831 minutes
46ish hours from this post.

Ravencoin (RVN) Decentralised: RHE9Pys8aQ47G28PYhC2umaT7ouNvtpXkU
Hanacoin (HANA) Centralised: HJzbjF8YUcETVB6K23o84aRY7wBirzJNrr
Both can work

I understand that, but still the network hashrate jumps are several times frightening. No one suspects that the network Ravencoin suffers from attacks of hackers? Is that possible? For example, before a hacker attack was subjected to network XVG and BTG...

great thanks!

I was also wondering if Devs are working on changing the interval between diff adjustments

This is being investigated by the devs, and more info on a solution should be available soon.

Hi all.  Here's the latest scoop from the devs regarding the mining difficulty swings/fix. Some of the devs believe that Ravencoin will be able to push through the issue until October 31st in order to combine a difficulty update fork with the upcoming asset layer fork to avoid some of the big pitfalls that would come with hard forks, but they also recognize that this is a significant issue that is affecting the mining community, and by extension, the overall project.  They have been testing Dark Gravity Wave on testnet and are making some tweaks to it that will fit Ravencoin better, as well as the best way and time to implement it if it gets pushed out early. The signs point to it being implemented before October 31st, but the details are still being worked out

these fpga miners are screwing all networks without asics with diff bombs

they said that they will release bitstreams so now people buy fpga and theyr not releasing because theyr exploiting stuff like this, im now going to asics its pointless to fight asics while we have people that toy with the network, they advocate anti asics because they mine with fpga and they dont want to lose the edge they have on gpu and the toying with the network hashrate

In the morning I could not connect to the stratum Icemining. Switched the miner to https://cryptopool.party, 0.5 coins since then. A month ago was 100 coins a day))) If the situation does not improve, who will mine this coin at this price?
UDP: https://cryptopool.party removed Ravencoin. What is happening?

What are you asking?:
Q:
Why has Cryptopool stopped offering RVN?
A:
They still offer RVN and even giving away RVN to miners.

or

Q:
Why so little returns right now?
A:
Large amounts of hash power came in for a mining rape. Causing the difficulty to go very high.
They left us with a smaller network hashrate and a very high difficulty to get through 2016 blocks before it can adjust again.

If I check now there is 0.18 blocks being mined per minute. That means one block per 5.5 minutes.
The target is 1 per minute.

So you are getting a share of what your pool is mining. If it doesn't get that block after 5 mins it has to try for the next 5mins and so on. Your pool may not get one for a long time.

With every swing getting worse, I don't think they can last until October. My guess is that the next diff lowering will be half of he last, and if we see the same hashing power coming back then we'll see double the diff we have now. Good luck finding miners to work for free with 1 block / 10 minutes.

I totally understand where you're coming from and it is annoying. If it got worse the devs are hinting to bring it forward. At the beginning a lot of us here mined this for 2-3 months when it had no value as we hoped it would have a future.
Imagine if the block reward was only 50 and 25 of those went to a masternode.
