If you are already with Gridcoin and solo mining (not in a pool), just install BOINC on your Android device and let it run (for example while it's charging). You will earn BOINC credits and, in turn, more Gridcoins.

Gridcoin community is very active on cryptocointalk, reddit, steemit, twitter, slack, IRC, github. Bitcointalk is somehow in "monitoring mode" - questions will get answered, but the vibe is elsewhere. I don't know why, I guess we need to ask some crypto-veterans.

I agree, purely for advertising than anything else. In other areas where yo u read up on Gridcoin they're always talking about where and how to advertise. Meanwhile clone coins are pump n dumping aka Gollem at the moment.
