Sorry for my bad english. The algo based on Momentum Proof of Work is very interesting (innovating) at least for me and is very hardware consuming. We never seen similar before. I would like to ask some questions.
What kind of data is located in memory? I guess that it is some large hash tables (rainbow tables), am I right? Can we do the same thing without them?
It seems that project has been released ahead its time. The mining requirements are too high for the modern consumer CPU even without increasing difficulty.

There is a bounty of 5k that may be increased have a shot , i don't think Rainbow tables is a work around as some one tried , but have a go i want to see how this progresses , I hope its valued highly due to the innovative nature  .

A system like this would be perfect for bitfreak! mini block chain idea , i wonder why no one looked further at that  ?

Looks like ProtoShares have established an initial price point of $2.50 recognized by multiple traders.

Should see a lot fewer orphans after the difficulty adjustment in a few hours - hashes take 5 to 10 seconds to run, and we seem to be getting a new block every 30 to 60 seconds, so there's a 1/6 chance that someone else finds a block at about the same time you do. When difficulty adjusts, that should be more like 1/30. Difficulty is going to go way up though - there's been 5x or 10x more interest than anticipated.

Benchmark: on i5-3337U running 4 clients with 2/2/1/1 processes, 1 core per client. No noticable difference between the processes with 2 threads and the processes with 1 (possibly due to core saturation). 1.9 hpm per core. No blocks yet.

On another computer running 1/1/1/1, I get 2.7hpm per core (but I don't know the processor). One block.

Any more results?

6-core here, how do I run more than one process in Win7?

Thank you

1. protoshares-qt -port=25550 -datadir=<dir1>
2. protoshares-qt -port=25551 -datadir=<dir2>

Replace dir1 and dir2 with the respective data directories.
Then, in each go to debug console and do "setgenerate true 3". Set the affinity of first process to the first 3 cores and the second process to next 3 cores.

some questions..

wonder why none of the usual "experts" have said anything ?
where is Spots & friends ?

why do you always have to self moderate your topics like iGotSpots ? that does not inspire much confidence..

lastly why should anyone bother mining this etc after watching how you abandoned your last coin ? (MemoryCoin / MEG)
which in my opinion seemed scammy..

sorry but i'm not going near this or any other coin you release.. the MEG ANN topic is more than enough of a reason why

and don't worry what i say makes no difference, we all know there is no stopping people from mining everything that is posted

Because this coin is not being launched by FreeTrade, he is work-for-hire of Invictus Innovations bounty to create this coin.

There are trolls out there, and I will not name names, but as far as I know it is just insurance to moderate your own topics.

You may have noticed the block difficulty hasn't adjusted as expected at block 2016. I made a mistake with the parameters, and the block difficultly adjustment is set to 2 weeks rather than 1. I've had a quick discussion with ByteMaster, and we've decided the course of action is to leave difficultly adjustment at 2 weeks for now, and consider releasing a patch later to bring the difficulty adjustment back down to 1 week.

What this means is a further 24 hours or so of low-difficulty mining before the difficultly adjusts at block 4032.

If you want to discuss me, or MemoryCoin, that's fine - there's 10 different threads you can do that on, or you can start a new one. This thread is for discussion of Invictus Innovations ProtoShares - any further off topic discussion will be removed.

Reward has been decreased until 47.5 PTS.

Growth curve calls for 5% per week... but so many people are mining that 1 weeks worth of blocks were mined in the first day.... and of course murphy struck and we failed to update the difficulty adjustment from Bitcoins default of 2 weeks... so another 20 hours of  30 second blocks..... going to the massive feeding frenzy of miners each of which is working for 8+ hours to find a single block.

I found one and it said it was stale, and it doesn't even show up in listtransactions?

How does that happen?

interesting

i guess i should not use all 8 cores

ed: actually, shouldn't it create a new block after each new block that is found?  i have seen there is sometimes a delay of up to 10 seconds

err, it did.  wtf was it working on a block that was received 56s prior?  it received one at 20:43 and created a new block at 21:00, why was it not based on the latest block?
