seems to be compiling ok now...if you get stuck compiling db.cpp, change the makefile.osx to say:

 DEPSDIR=/usr/local

(instead of /opt/local)

make sure you have deps installed:

brew install berkeley-db boost miniupnpc openssl

(make sure you install berkely-db 4.8...this might be useful:
cd /usr/local
git checkout e6a374d Library/Formula/berkeley-db.rb (get right version)

brew unlink berkeley-db (unlink wrong version)

brew install berkeley-db (this should install the right version...but it didn't work for me...I'm trying brew install berkeley-db
4 right now)

(grrr....where the heck does brew put db4?)

I was able to compile bitcoind from https://github.com/donSchoe/ptsminer for OS X; that's as far as I can get; I'm not sure if ptsminer is supposed to compile on Mac or not...I'm no programmer, so it took me like two hours to fix all the bugs in the makefile.osx and get my libraries linked correctly...

Any news on a mac pool miner?

Oh, I'll keep my nodes running in validation mode to help others get started:

addnode 96.42.211.116:3888 add
addnode 96.42.211.116:3889 add
addnode 96.42.211.116:3890 add
addnode 96.42.211.116:3891 add

None of these are speed demons (the oldest is a core 2 -- not even a duo; I'm not even sure how much ram it has...)

Hardforks aren't that hard. It’s getting others to use them that's hard.

yeah it makes one think - (not being critical)

But really for a CPU algo there should be a significant attempt for the community to get as a diverse base as possible , considering that lots of CPU's can use it , so yeah i agree there should be MAC WIN , etc Source is source of course -

get those Pi's in there ha ha

Just an FYI for anyone else that tries linking with google-perftools tcmalloc, it does increase hashes/m but only gets 1/4 collisions, seen this in the client and 3rd party miners.

what this means? i'have found 9370 blocks? i'can believe ... i'think there must be something wrong.

{
    "blocks" : 9370,
    "currentblocksize" : 1000,
    "currentblocktx" : 0,
    "difficulty" : 0.00001526,
    "errors" : "",
    "generate" : true,
    "genproclimit" : 4,
    "hashespermin" : 4.73765249,
    "pooledtx" : 0,
    "testnet" : false
}

how many confirmations is need before it's go in the local wallet add?

Haha, that would be to good to be true, wouldn´t it?
"blocks" : 9370, means the blockchein currently consists of 9370 blocks, so that means that is the totel number of blocks that have bean mined from the begining of the coin (by the network, not just you).

Best you join a pool, when you solo mine you might not get a block for days at this difficulty Tongue
Pool nr.1: http://54.238.185.113/miner
Pool nr.2 (in alpha testing but has an optimized miner): http://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=236.0
pool nr.2: http://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=234.0 (pool aswell as impoved 64bit miner)

Hashrate is fine, I am getting the same ~25 as with bytemaster's client and pool. The only problem is I haven't received any payout since the last one 16 hours ago. I restarted the client a few times so I don't know the exact number, but at least since the last restart more than 200 shares were accepted. Has the difficulty increased so much that this isn't enough? From bytemaster's pool I got a notable payout every 2 hours.

Can that miner be used to solo too, or does it only work with pools?
