Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Hi, I'm a newb. I've started doing mining and all this week, first with Prime, and then Protoshare coins.

I downloaded the Protoshare wallet from the right place. I've added all the "addnode <IP#> add" listed on this page: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=325261.0

addnode 162.243.67.4 add
addnode 162.243.54.126 add
addnode 37.139.29.236 add
addnode 64.90.183.137 add
addnode 180.183.205.118 add

I've installed the software on mutliple computers with the same result. I've tried to email the Invictus guys to see if they could help but no reply.

I've tried to send my Ypool Protoshare coins from my mining to my wallet and they never showed up. The green check mark at the bottom has never shown up. It sits at one hour for days. Have I lost all the coins I've mined that I tried to send to my wallet? Why is everyone else able to synch up by mine sits for days? I used Ypool because the wallet would never sync in the first place.

Found it. Thanks. Finally got my stuff. Talk about frustration... and how you can't easily ask questions around here if you're a "newbie".

Try the bitsharestalk forum, it's more "newbie friendly" and the official forum for protoshares

Hi!
I'm trying to run the latest version from Github of ProtoShare wallet client in testnet mode (using -testnet parameter) but it doesn't work. The check for the genesis block aborts the program. Could this be fixed?

Thanks,
-M

I'm done on this one now, the difficulty is to high already.  I didn't manage to find a block and have about 5 PTS from pools total.
I think people using multiple cloud servers has kicked out the solo miner pretty quickly Sad

I'm kinda new to this. I've a i5 3330, with 8gb ram.

right now i'm using windows 32bit, so i'm swithching to windows 64bit to use my full extent of my ram.

so pls guide  me wat kind of miner should i use for best output and which pool is efficient.

If all goes smoothly i'm willing to add another 24gb of ram.

I found the Ypool to be the best, but there are >50,000 miners on it now.  They were finding about 200 blocks an hour according to their stats yesterday, now that the difficulty has increased, it is 70 an hour.
It should settle to 12 an hour sometime.  Even with your good computer, you will find very very little now.

Hey fellas, quick question. I've had two of my processor cores running pts_32x for the past day and a half. It is indicating that it has paid me my 1.02035555 1 day earnings yet it isn't showing up in my wallet. Any ideas?

Consider it an opportunity to try out a different miner and see if the performance is better.
