I'd like to see an option to have the balances exported to a log file. This would be helpful in keeping track of how many coins you have on what date and include the estimated BTC value.  It could also be scheduled to update the log every x hours.

The log could then be imported/graphed into Excel.

 
BTW,  CAT has been making me gains. Has not ROI'd yet, but ....

It would be much better if the program could analyze the market and do not buy in falling markets.

You can set the low boundary value.
And i will work on new parameters to make CAT Able to understand a "falling markets"

I would like that very much. It would solve the problem of locked markets and make more profits and C.A.T. much smarter.
Reckoning a falling market should not be difficult. even something like: is price at day 2 < price at day 1? (yes or no) would be better than nothing. But EMAs would be better

just a manual low boundary does not define a trend and requires constant input and attention by the user

Right now I lose value every day using C.A.T.   I think it's because I'm not very good at trading or setting it up right.   If someone knows how to use CAT maybe they can make it work for them.   I sent some private messages to Sampey (CAT creator) and beg/request him to add features to the ping-pong algorithm such as "MAX % gain allowed", "Never recalculate Trades based from PONG" and "Check % X times before Pong create".   Also not checking the buy sell on order book for price recalculation.  He says these features will be considered, so C.A.T. may become more stronger in future updates.

I don't think you can accuse Sampey of not adding new features...the software is constantly being updated and he is adding new features as and when he can !

Don't send feature requests as PMs, as nobody else can vote on them !!! As far as he is concerned you are the only one asking for these features, so why should he make changes for 1 person !!?

Make feature requests public and others users can vote on them. Thats the quickest way of getting things changed

I don't accuse him.  He says he value the suggestions & will look at them.  Sampey provide good support for CAT.  He just PM he now that he see me offering my CAT for sale.    Sampey is a very smart guy, and CAT is a well made program.  He already respond to 30 PMs I sent to him and explain PING/PONG to me and help me get started using CAT.

I tell you the 4 suggestions I make to him in the post above, please read it.


3 of them are new features.  % max gain allowed, never recalc new pongs, and check x times the % before create pong.    Check X times is Sampey's own idea he tell me he already thinking of a way putting that feature in CAT that will work for everyone.


Right now I cannot use CAT effectively and I losing my coin balance all day while tryign to trade using CAT.  I think you need to be a smarter trader to know how to effectively use CAT.

You buy CAT on January 25 (6 days ago).
In 6 Days you write me 43 PM.
In each PM you say that CAT is a great program, a very good tools, and that you have a lot of ideas.
In the last 2 Days (48 hours) You write me a very complex PM explaining your idea and i really appreciate.
I Said i will look for these suggestions (because i rellay want to add to CAT). I Explain you i am a full time worker and you reply that you understand all my intentions.
You continue write PM, i continue read it and give response.

Yes I do think CAT is a very good program, & I already say here that you provide good support in PM for the program.  The problem is that I cannot use it effectively.  THere are probably other traders that know more about how to use an automatic trader in a way that will work for them.   I tell you in PM your A BOSS and to take time to consider the ideas. 

I explain them here for people to vote.

1.   CAT Ping pong algorithm using min. % guaranteed gain:  Cat only make buy/sell trade when % gain is reached  (default 0.8%).  However if market swing up or down higher than this, CAT have no method of allowing % max gain.  I request to Sampey to add this, and he says he already thinking of ways to put it into the source code.  It will have to do with # of checks of the % diff before final Submit of order.  I counter and say base off < or > than previous % diff reported in market general log console.   Or use both options together, seperately or not at all as test.

2.  CAT recalculate pong orders based from trade.   B6 have 'never recalc user PING orders',  B7 have 'always create pong order' by default.  Except pong order is recalculated and placed at top of order book for best postion, or within orderbook for % guar gain.  It is not immediately placed Static at Ping trade buy/sell price (which it needs). 

3.  Check X number of times % diff before create PONG.   This is partly related to point #1.  % max allowed gain based on checking % diff quantity over time at 40 sec intervals.  Check X times is the method Sampey prefer to add because it works best for everyone and needs lots of testing.  Both will accomplish same thing, and can be used together or seperately.  Or just have one, but I think CAT having both options is best.  You can choose a combination and see what works.

4.  Never recalc PONG trades, must be placed static & immediately.  Pong orders should not be recalculated, or at least have the option to NOT recalculate.

So to the people saying they're losing money with cat.  Are you looking at the daily charts in cryptsy?  Or are you just looking at the volume of the market and figure thats a good one?   This bot tells you what kind of market you'd be selling or buying into as well as volumes which are both very useful.  If you're trying to pingpong into a market that for the past 24 hours has sold 6-1 over buys, its no wonder you're not making money.  It's slow going with little amounts of money at first, and every once in a while you'll get jammed up in a bad trade...  Today courtesy of cryptsy, I've lost 3 ltc due to moon locking up my coin and not releasing them after a cancellation.  Play smart and set caps on your market pingpongs..

I was just thinking of writing a script to notify me by email/txt if the market log files last modified date/time was not in the lase x min. I'd also like to put in a notification when the market gain log file is updated.

Both would be a nice addition to CAT.
